United Nations Association of Dane County UNA Dane County is dedicated to educating, inspiring, and mobilizing people in support of the UN. If you want to participate we'd love to have you.

We are the Dane County chapter of UNA-USA, a national volunteer organization that carries out the mission and work of the United Nations. Our local volunteer work includes organizing and offering free educational events and supporting other groups with similar missions. Membership meetings and lecture series occur on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7pm and cover a wide array of topics. Recent spe

akers presented on youth organizations achieving action on gun violence, the connections between climate change and human rights, the conflict in Ukraine, and other topics of local, national, and international interest related to social justice, peace, human rights and the health of our planet. Our volunteer board meets monthly, September through May to plan and carry out our work and events. A variety of programs are ongoing and provide many opportunities for membership participation. In addition we host an annual UN Day celebration lunch and auction around the 3rd Sunday in October. We organized a speaker of national and international importance to speak on a contemporary topic. We also annually award a Dane country resident or organization with the UNA global citizen award for outstanding work towards one of the UN Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs).
