What a good lookin’ bunch of cooperators! We had a great time at this year’s Worker Cooperative Conference. It was amazing connecting and networking with folks and learning lots of useful information in the sessions. Can’t wait to see everyone next time!

Businesses and workers on Williamson Street are still feeling the financial and emotional impacts following the death of Corey Ruiz, as fundraising efforts launch to help those affected by weeks of closures.

MadWorC wants to support our community in a way that aligns with our values - specifically Cooperation & Integrity, Democracy & Transparency, and Justice. Our community has been directly impacted by the shooting of Corey Ruiz on Williamson Street on July 22nd. In an effort to offset the loss of wages due to the shooting, we have started the W***y Street Impacted Workers Fund.

Funds raised will go directly to employees impacted by lost wages in the immediate area of the shooting. Employees impacted by lost wages can apply for funds using the link found on the donation page. Impacted employees can apply for a maximum of $500 per round of funding. We hope to secure enough donations to have multiple rounds of funding. MadWorC will verify lost wages and disperse funds to individual employees.
