The Board has determined that it is necessary to cancel our social event scheduled for this Saturday, August 8th, due to ongoing construction activities involving Corey Ruiz a block away. This decision has been made for safety reasons. Please be advised that we will be hosting another event next weekend, on August 15th, which is the Deaf Gathering in Darien, Wisconsin.

It sounds like an enjoyable opportunity to attend. Let's proceed with our attendance.

Special message from MAD Event Coordinator Darrell Roby.

Our volunteers work hard to keep MAD active and our events going. Recently, we received negative comments about some of our event flyers because they were created with AI instead of by a professional graphic designer.

We want to explain why.

MAD is run almost entirely by volunteers. A small number of dedicated people spend countless hours planning events, organizing activities, maintaining the clubhouse, serving on committees, and creating flyers. Many of these volunteers are already stretched thin.

We simply do not have the budget to hire a professional graphic designer for every event. AI has become a helpful tool that allows our volunteers who are not artists or designers to create attractive flyers and share information with our community. It helps us save both time and money so we can focus our resources on serving our members.

Instead of criticizing those who are volunteering their time, we encourage others to get involved. If you have graphic design skills or know how to create great flyers, we would truly love your help. Every new volunteer makes MAD stronger.

We especially hope to see more younger Deaf community members become involved. Fresh ideas, new energy, and additional volunteers will help ensure a bright future for MAD.

Thank you to everyone who volunteers their time, talent, and effort. We appreciate you, and we welcome anyone who wants to join us in making MAD even better.

Thanks, Darro
