Many people don’t realize that domestic violence doesn’t stop with age. When abuse is seen as something that only happens to younger people, older survivors become invisible and don’t get the help and support they deserve.
This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we join the domestic violence field's call to move from awareness to action and to stand with survivors, always. For NCALL, that means centering older survivors and taking action to support survivors of every age on their path toward safety and healing.
Head over to the NCALL website to read our new blog, Standing With Survivors Means Breaking Down Barriers for Older Adults, (link in bio) for some ideas to help you show up for older survivors today, throughout DVAM, and all year long.
