Wisconsin 4-H Youth Development Wisconsin 4-H Youth Development teaches leadership, citizenship and other invaluable life skills through fun educational experiences.

4-H reaches every corner of our state—from urban neighborhoods to suburban schoolyards to rural farming communities. In Wisconsin, with a network of more than 24,00 youth, 4-H helps shape youth to move our communities, state, country and the world forward in ways that no other youth organization can. Wisconsin 4-H is offered in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension.

🍀🏆Congratulations to 2026 Wisconsin 4-H Top 10 Key Award winner, Josie Mertens!

Josie is a member of the Calumet Cliffhangers 4-H Club. This is her 13th year in 4-H. Her favorite part of 4-H has been working with her ducks and building friendships with people from across the county and state. 4-H has played a significant role in shaping who she is today. Through leadership opportunities, community service, and countless experiences, she has developed confidence, perseverance, and a passion for helping others. She is currently pursuing a degree in Agricultural Education at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and hopes to inspire future generations through teaching and leadership. She is grateful for the friendships, experiences, and life skills that 4-H has provided her and for the positive impact it has had on her life.

🍀🏆Congratulations to 2026 Wisconsin 4-H Top 10 Key Award winner, Gavin Knudson!

Gavin is a member of the Bells of Luxemburg 4-H club. He is also a Luxemburg-Casco graduate and in his sophomore year at UW-Madison. He is currently a psychology major on the pre-medical track, and hopes to one day be a research psychiatrist. In his free time he enjoys fishing, sailing, camping, and mountain biking.

This is Bryndalyn’s eleventh year with the 4-H program where she enjoys showing her sheep, exhibiting clothing, and taking the photography project. She is attending the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, double majoring in Business Administration & Finance with a minor in Accounting. She hopes to work in a healthcare administration role in the future. Bryndalyn is a 2026 graduate of Richland Center High School.

🍀🏆Congratulations to 2026 Wisconsin 4-H Top 10 Key Award winner, Adelena Hartjes!

Adelena graduated from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids. She is attending UW-River Falls, majoring in Animal Science with a focus on Dairy Science and Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She is a 13-year veteran of Badger 4-H and grew up on a family-run replacement heifer farm. She loves working on the farm and hanging out with all her animals. She has been active in theatre, choir, FFA, National Honors Society, and 4H. She is an avid reader and writer, drawn to stories because they help us understand lives beyond our own. Whether she is watching Lord of the Rings or writing her own work, she believes stories build empathy and connection. She loves Taylor Swift and lyrical genius. Some people say she’s loud–but she just loves life.

On August 11, 2026, the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Meat Products Auction took place at the Wisconsin State Fair Expo Center in West Allis, raising $92,300 for Wisconsin 4-H.

📅 Mark your calendars! Join us for Beyond Wisconsin: Exploring the Midwest!

Between February 11-15, 2027, youth in grades 6-8 will travel to St. Louis, Missouri and experience fun, learning, and cultural discovery.

Participants can experience:
🍀 Science museums
🍀 Art centers
🍀 Live music and performances
🍀 Local food

🍀🏆Congratulations to 2026 Wisconsin 4-H Top 10 Key Award winner, Bridget Danke!

Bridget has been in 4-H for 10 years in Outagamie county with the B-Square 4-H club. Her favorite projects include rabbits, goats, art, and youth leadership. She even has a 10 year old rabbit named Simba. Bridget is very involved on the club, county, state, and national level. Her most recent educational trip was to the National 4-H congress and her favorite is American Spirit. Throughout 4-H, Bridget has been able to donate over 400 hours of service to her community and has held many positions of leadership. 4-H truly is her favorite activity and could even be a career option for her. Bridget is very thankful for all the opportunities 4-H have given her over the years.

🍀🏆Starting off our recognition of the 2026 Wisconsin 4-H Top 10 Key Award winners, congratulations to Grace Carter!

Grace is a 10 year member of the Websters Prairie 4-H Club in Sauk County. She enjoys showing her two dogs, photography, crocheting and other projects at the fair. During her time in 4-H she has held the role of her club president for 6 years, been a member and Secretary of the Wisconsin 4-H Leadership Council and attended a variety of statewide events such as Fall Forum, Summer Academy, and the Hall of Fame Ceremony. Grace is very involved in the equestrian world where she has earned 4 National Championships in endurance horseback riding, and trained several horses for the sport and for clients. Academically, Grace is very involved in Advanced Placement classes, earned Summa Cum Laude after her Junior year and will hold the position of President in both Baraboo FFA and FBLA during her senior year. After high school she plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison with the intention of later attending veterinary school.

🐕🐶❤️🍀Jumps, tunnels, and tables, oh my! It's a beautiful day at the State 4-H Agility Show for these talented 4-H handlers and their dog teammates. You can tell that there are many hours spent practicing to be ready for this show. A HUGE thank you to the volunteers and State 4-H Dog Association that put in countless hours before, during, and after the show. You are so appreciated!
