Happy 91st Birthday to the Wisconsin Association of School Councils! 🎉🎂

For 91 years, WASC has been where Wisconsin students find their voice, build lifelong friendships, and learn to lead. From summer camps to regional conferences, generations of student leaders have created memories that last a lifetime—just like the ones in this collage! 📸✨

To celebrate this milestone, we’re kicking off our annual Gift of Leadership campaign with a special birthday ask:

Can you chip in $9.10 (or $91!) today to sponsor the next generation of student leaders?

❤ Donate $9.10 today to honor 91 years of leadership:

We’re proud to share a special recognition for someone who has given decades of service to the WASC. ❤️

The WASC’s Collaborative Leadership Council (CLC)—formally the Governing Board—has voted to name Bjorn Berg as an Executive Director Emeritus, recognizing his years of leadership, service, and lasting contributions to the association.

The Executive Director Emeritus distinction is an honorary recognition for former WASC Executive Directors whose service has furthered the WASC’s mission. Bjorn joins previous honorees Don Wendt, Larry Hanson, Roger Chambers, and Don Larsen.

And Bjorn’s WASC story goes back much further than his time as Executive Director. He first attended Leadership Camp as a delegate in 1994 and went on to serve the WASC in countless ways—as a regional officer, camp counselor and director, program leader, presenter, volunteer, and, beginning in 2021, Executive Director.

Across more than three decades, Bjorn has helped strengthen WASC programs, build relationships across our state, champion student leadership, support advisors and volunteers, and shape the future of an organization that has meant so much to so many.

We’re grateful for all Bjorn has given to the WASC and honored to recognize him as Executive Director Emeritus.

Congratulations, Bjorn! 👏

🎁 Give the Gift of Leadership

This holiday season, we’re inviting the WASC community to come together to help us raise $10,000 by December 1.

Because leadership isn’t something we’re simply born with. It’s something we develop through opportunity, mentorship, connection, experience, and people who believe in us.

For more than 90 years, the WASC has created those opportunities for Wisconsin students. Your support helps make leadership experiences possible for more students, regardless of their school or financial circumstances.

Your Gift. Their Leadership. Our Future.

Will you help us reach our $10,000 goal?
