Update on Steve Garner, from Sheila:

These phones have a mind of their own will try this again. We had requested a meeting with the surgeon and the wound VAC doctor, just seems like we’re on a roller coaster. 1 was telling us one thing and the other was telling us something different so on Monday, the wound VAC doctor came in and we asked where the surgeon was and they said they had just talked to the surgeon and he said he had done all he could do for Steve’s foot. There would be no more surgery. They took the Wound back off the heel and looked at it and examined it and the PA with the wound doctor said there was nothing else they could do that. The heel was not healing. So we sit down and talk about our next step which would be go home with HOSPICE and just start making arrangements to keep Steve comfortable. late Monday afternoon. The surgeon walks in and tells both of us I believe I can do one more surgery and I repeated you told the wound doctor there was going to be no more surgeries. He said well now that he got to investigate and looking at the wound that he believe he could do one more surgery. Tuesday afternoon they took Steve back for another surgery. The doctor come out said everything looked good but the way he had to cut it scrape on the heel again left the bone exposed. The surgeon said he did not know if this would take or if this was would work, but he was giving it all he had he was not giving up on Steve’s foot or not letting Steve down as of today. Wound care came in and said it looked a little better but now he has a yeast infection on the foot. I have no earthly idea ideal how he got that, could be from all the different antibiotics they’ll start him on new antibiotics as soon as they get the culture back to see what kind of yeast infection it is. We’re still taking it day by day because we never know what tomorrow’s gonna bring. Steve. We appreciate all the prayers that have been said, and I asked that y’all continue thank each one of you for all the prayers and the love y’all have shown and especially the support. New update Dr A the surgeon came in just as I was writing this and he says the foot looks great today, hallelujah thank you Jesus!

For Sara Nall, two values have shaped much of her life: serve people well and be a good steward of what you've been given.

Those values eventually led her to Spring Creek Ministries.

Sara first met Lonnie when he came to her office looking for help with the financial and tax side of the ministry. As an accountant with more than 20 years of experience, Sara naturally started asking questions.

The more she learned, the more she believed in what Spring Creek was doing.

And the mission connected with her personally.

Years earlier, Sara lost her aunt to breast cancer. She remembers how difficult it was for her family to navigate that season and how valuable it would have been to have someone experienced walking alongside them—someone who could help make sense of the confusion and simply say, "Here's how you can help."

Today, Sara serves as Treasurer for Spring Creek Ministries.

That means she sees not only the impact this ministry has on people, but also what it takes financially to answer the next call, travel to the next family, and continue meeting needs.

She also sees how carefully those resources are managed.

Jon Lanier supported Spring Creek Ministries before he ever needed them.

Update on Steve Garner:
My apologies for the delay in getting this info out!

Donna and I saw Steve last Thursday morning.
He was in good spirits and said he had some good news. His surgeon was releasing him to the care of the hospitalist and wound care doctor. He could be released from the hospital soon if the proper arrangements could be made. He will still require dialysis so the challenge is to find the right facility to keep him and also the means of transportation for continued treatment.

Let’s be praying for everything to line up for Steve and Sheila and also for complete healing in his foot!

Before Lonnie preached Jon Lanier's father's funeral, he wanted to know the man he was going to talk about.
So he sat with him.
When Jon's dad went on hospice, Lonnie asked if he could spend time with him—not simply to visit, but to talk and get to know him personally.
Then, before the funeral, Lonnie sat down with Jon and his brother for hours.
He asked about their childhood.
He asked what kind of father he had been.
He listened to the stories and learned about the man their family was preparing to say goodbye to.
For Jon, that's when you see just how seriously Spring Creek Ministries takes this work.
A funeral isn't just another service to perform. Behind every funeral is a person who lived a life, and a family trying to figure out how to say goodbye.

For years, Keith knew Lonnie as a friend.
