ARC hosted it’s 2026 river rafting trip this past weekend! 75 staff and members unplugged from technology and explored the wonders of nature.

For many, it’s their first time outside of the city, and for some, outside of their neighborhoods. Members from age 18 to 78 participated in the weekend.

Congratulations to these graduates! They participated in an intensive, 11-week long program where they learned not only the fundamentals of union labor, but came out with pride and real experience in their chosen trades.

ARC believes in rich second chances, where formerly incarcerated folks earn careers, not just jobs. For some, it’s the first time wearing a cap and gown, an achievement beyond just a moment. It’s the start of building a life and legacy to be proud of. And it all started with a second chance.

Meet Ralphie. Last weekend, he and his mom came out to our backpack giveaway with free food, games, and haircuts! Ralphie’s mom was happy to see him get the haircut he wanted, and Ralphie was happy to just see his mom comfortable.

This is why second chances are important to ARC.

We wish Ralphie and everyone a great school year.
