🌟 WANDA Instructor Spotlight: Mansi Goel

As an instructor with WANDA, watching single mothers actively commit to working on themselves through the challenges they face, exploring their authenticity, finding empowerment, and reclaiming their true selves, has been a gift and a privilege to Mansi Goel.

Mansi has a background in tech and spent 10 years at Google before retiring as the Global Head of Product Policy and becoming a leadership coach. The professional development she had access to had helped her grow and succeed, which inspired her to help other women reach for their dreams.

2025 Annual Report | When the Village Shows Up: Collective Support for Single Mothers in a Changing Landscape

WANDA (Women and Allies) advances economic justice for single mothers and their families through education, empowerment, investment, and community partnership. In 2025, our work was shaped by changing conditions that pushed more single-mother households into crisis.

In response, WANDA adapted its approach to meet families where they are, launching Measure K Rent Assistance, expanding our partnerships, and investing in growing the reach of WANDA’s programming.

We’d like to send a special thank you to all of our generous supporters for their impactful 2025 giving! With your support, we are helping strong, single moms build brighter futures. Read and download our 2025 Annual Report: https://bit.ly/48E4jKx

Partnership update! WANDA and Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center partnered to support moms in building financial stability while launching or growing licensed Family Child Care (FCC) businesses. This collaboration combines WANDA’s matched savings program with Renaissance’s FCC licensing support and Creciendo en el Hogar, a 10-week training program focused on business development, licensing, and helping participants either establish or strengthen their in-home child care programs.

WANDA Mom Spotlight: Maribel, Cohort 16

"When I look back on my journey with WANDA, there is a stark difference between the Maribel I was before and the Maribel I’ve become with the help of WANDA’s partnerships and programming. WANDA showed me how to step outside of my comfort zone to go after opportunities I did not think were possible for someone like me."

WANDA Mom Spotlight: Faviola, Cohort 17

"As a single mother, my main priority has always been to show up as the best mother for my children. But after becoming the sole financial provider for my family a couple years ago, my faith wavered in my ability to provide and create a stable future for my children — one where we didn’t have to constantly worry about bills and finances. Since joining WANDA, I’ve gained the resources and confidence to bring my family to financial freedom and stability."

As March comes to a close, we honor and recognize Women’s History Month. As a financial empowerment organization, focused on supporting single mothers and their families, this month also offers an opportunity to better understand the economic contributions of these women and how they trickle down to the next generation and our local communities.

In the United States, roughly 25 percent of children live with a single parent, and about 80 percent of those households are led by mothers. This rate is among the highest in the developed world. These single mothers are the breadwinners, consumers, and decision-makers shaping the economic futures of their families. When mothers are able to build income, savings, and financial assets, the effects extend past their familial walls.
