Approximately 6.7 million women and 2.8 million men have experienced contact sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking from an intimate partner in the U.S, according to the most recent National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey from 2023 to 2024, published this year by the CDC.

October is the month to acknowledge DV survivors and be a voice for its victims. You can share this post and wear purple on 10/15 to raise awareness. We will continue our work helping DV survivors rebuild their lives and break free from cycles of violence.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and we are observing it on 10/16 with our fall Women’s Wellness Day. It’s an event for moms in temporary housing to receive important breast cancer screening, including mammograms, as well as testing for cervical cancer, HPV, and STIs, and other preventive care.

Those who attend can pamper themselves with free massages and additional offerings promoting relaxation. It’s a day of true self-care for women with limited resources who rarely take time to de-stress and attend to their well-being.
