LiveONNY recently had the pleasure of hosting Medical Studies students from Achievement First University Prep High School for a hands-on Simulation Lab Tour!

Led by Dr. F***y Ballard, these bright students from Brooklyn got a front-row seat to real-world medical scenarios, exploring the technology and teamwork that goes into saving lives every day. Inspiring the next generation of healthcare heroes is a vital part of our mission, and these students brought incredible energy and curiosity to the lab.

Thank you, Dr. Ballard, and everyone at Achievement First for joining us! We can’t wait to see where your medical journeys take you. 🧑‍⚕️💙

LiveOnNY had the privilege of hosting leadership from Pace University for a tour of our Simulation Center. We were thrilled to welcome Stewart Ault, representing the College of Health Professions Programs and Services, to our facility.

The visit was an incredible opportunity to showcase how our state-of-the-art Sim Center serves as a vital resource for training, clinical excellence, and education. By opening our doors to academic leaders like Pace University, we are able to share deeper insights into our daily mission and how LiveOnNY services and supports communities across the greater New York area.

Thank you, Stewart, and the Pace University team for your time, your partnership, and your shared commitment to community health and education!

Last week, LiveOnNY was out in the Bronx hosting an information and enrollment table at Senator Luis Sepulveda’s Healthy Lifestyle Convention. We had a wonderful time answering questions, sharing the importance of organ donation, and helping community members sign up to save lives.

A huge thank you to Senator Luis Sepulveda () for putting together such an impactful event and stopping by to show support!

LiveOnNY is deeply humbled and honored to share the story of a true hero from The Bronx.

Following an unimaginable tragedy that claimed the lives of three young siblings, 6-year-old Oseas Parks became an organ donor hero this week. Oseas, whose name means “salvation” in Spanish, saved the lives of three people with four of his organs donated to those on the national transplant waitlist.

Through the ultimate generosity of his parents during a time of profound grief, Oseas’s gifts of life were safely transported to three recipients between the ages of 8 and 37—two right here in New York and one out of state.

"That they thought of others in saying yes to organ donation during such a time of grief is a powerful testament to their generosity and will ensure that Oseas will live on through his gifts," said LiveOnNY President & CEO Leonard Achan.

Our deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers remain with the Parks family, their friends, and the Fordham Manor community during this incredibly difficult time. Oseas, Isis, and Liam will never be forgotten.

After 6-year-old boy Oseas Parks, older brother to 1-year-old Liam Parks and twin brother to his 6-year-old sister, Isis Parks, died following the fatal fire in the Fordham Manor section of The Bronx on Monday, May 11, LiveOnNY, the organization which coordinates organ donation across New York State...

“Oseas Parks, a 6-year-old Bronx boy who tragically lost his life with his two siblings in an apartment fire last week, became an organ donor hero today, giving life to others. LiveOnNY, which oversees and coordinates organ donation in the greater New York area, can confirm that Oseas saved the lives of three people with four of his organs donated to those on the national transplant waitlist.

LiveOnNY’s teams logistically managed Oseas’ gifts of life for safe transport to the three recipients who were between the ages of 8 and 37-years-old. Two of the recipients were from New York and one was from out of state. Oseas - which means “salvation” in Spanish - was able to donate both kidneys, a liver and pancreas.

LiveOnNY is humbled and honored to be the stewards of these precious gifts of life so that Oseas and others may live on. We extend our deepest condolences to his parents, extended family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers remain with them during this very difficult time. This is an unimaginable loss for any parent. That they thought of others in saying yes to organ donation during such a time of grief is a powerful testament to their generosity and will ensure that Oseas will live on through his gifts,” said Leonard Achan RN, MA, ANP President & CEO of LiveOnNY
