LiveOnNY was honored to welcome community members into our Long Island City headquarters this past weekend for Open House New York Weekend.

Visitors took guided, behind-the-scenes tours of our Donate Eight Simulation Center and Kidney Rescue Area, learning firsthand about the clinical precision, compassion, and care involved in the organ recovery and donation process. Our guests heard directly from our team and volunteers about the profound impact of the gift of life and the journey from donation to transplantation.

Words cannot fully express our gratitude to everyone who joined us at Heckscher State Park for the Suffolk County 5K For Life Run/Walk.

To our donor families, courageous recipients, and every community member who walked and ran beside us in East Islip: thank you for sharing your strength, your memories, and your hearts. Every single step on that course was taken in honor of those who gave the ultimate gift of life, and in solidarity with the nearly 10,000 New Yorkers—including more than 500 individuals in Suffolk County—who are still waiting for a lifesaving transplant.

In honor of our annual College Enrollment Month, student volunteers at Manhattan University partnered with LiveOnNY to bring vital organ, eye, and tissue donation awareness to campus!

The students engaged classmates and faculty members in open conversations, answered questions about the donation process, and signed up dozens of new donors to the New York State Donate Life Registry. Peer-to-peer education is one of the most effective ways to dispel common myths and empower the next generation of civic leaders to save lives.

A huge thank you to the Manhattan University student volunteers for their energy, dedication, and leadership in the Bronx community.

Dominican University New York hosted a special Donor Enrollment Drive in memory of Lauren Shields, bringing campus wide awareness to the importance of organ, eye, and tissue donation. In a moving tribute across the water, the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge was illuminated in blue in Lauren’s memory.

The enrollment drive brought together two powerful advocates at the table:

LiveOnNY was incredibly honored to join Senator Bill Weber at Rockland Lake State Park to celebrate the life and legacy of Lauren Shields.

Through her fearless advocacy and the passage of Lauren’s Law, Lauren helped countless New Yorkers say “yes” to organ donation—giving the ultimate gift of life to those in need. Her profound impact will continue to save and heal lives for generations to come.

Our team members Iliana and Andrew were proud to represent LiveOnNY in Niagara Falls for NP26 Annual Conference.

Nurse practitioners across New York play an indispensable role in patient advocacy, guiding critical conversations, and honoring the legacy of donor heroes. We were glad to meet with so many clinicians who are already familiar with our mission, share best practices in organ and tissue recovery, and build relationships for future educational initiatives.
