Good is difficult to define. The synonyms are just not exact matches. Maybe contrast is better. Good vs. Bad or Good vs. Evil. The comparison helps.

With regards to God, he is nothing but Good. He is Good in every-single-way. Evil and Bad do not exist in Him. He is completely void of anything that falls under those categories. That seems so elementary, but if you're in a place where your estimation of His Good has become conservative, you'll miss out on seeing His overwhelming Good.

What is His Good? It's His Kindness, Faithfulness, Hope, Patience, Sacrifice, Forgiveness, Truth, Grace, Mercy, Wisdom; all of it stemming from His Love. These are the real synonyms of Good and these are His attributes which He demonstrates unfailingly and flawlessly to everyone. You couldn't exaggerate it even if you tried.

I guess being of service, as Jesus was, is enough. There's no need for comparison. We can aim for His standard, that's it. The person next to you in ministry is not the metric. The highly-exposed and popular individual is not who we measure ourselves against. The success of anyone else is not our benchmark. Our efforts are purely driven by the example of Christ. If we pursue His teachings with all of our heart but fail or come up short, we rely on His Grace to cover the gap and get up to try again. We aren't competing against each other for salvation so there's no comparing and no contrasting with our neighbor. Jesus is who we keep our eye on. Looking toward Him is our Joy.

Those subjects are at the forefront of my mind. I am very concerned about each of them. That is a very short list. I could add more even but I don't want to circle the drain. We need to be informed about true conditions that exist. And where we can influence in a good way, I believe we're obligated to try. Even if your life is set and you're not facing difficulty, living in a bubble is not a luxury you can afford. You're not exempt especially if you're a Christian. So, within the parameters of our Lord's teachings, we strive to be beneficial to all. Realistically though,
Biblical faith and practice is more and more offensive to anyone who opposes Jesus. This means that our prayers, our actions must be driven by our understanding that God has demonstrated his Love and shown the extent He is willing to go in order to fulfill His good will for us; even eternal life. If we focus on that, we can override the fear of offending people. We are ambassadors of a heavenly kingdom and we are here to be a benefit to others now and also to point to heaven. This might mean that now, you help others find jobs, or give of your resources, or create prayer circles, or boldly preach the gospel or write letters to senators/representatives for issues that affect your community, or repent of sins that you've allowed to linger. Everything that we are and do has a greater purpose and that is to move people toward God.
