You may be journeying on an ugly route. If so, it's important that you know, God isn't oblivious to it nor did He happily allow it so that you'll suffer into a better version of you. He's not like that.
▪︎
"He does not want to cause trouble or sorrow for the children of men..." Lamentations 3:33 (NLV)
▪︎
I memorized that verse a long time ago. It helps me know that while He does use the hard road for our good, there is no enjoyment for him to watch us go through it. In fact, He is walking with us. (Matthew 28:20, Psalm 23)
▪︎
"But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me..." 2Timothy 4:17
▪︎
It was true for Paul when he wrote that and even now, it is absolutely true for us. If you're old enough, you've traversed a few sh*tty roads. I understand because I have. When you're on a difficult path, how you wish for an alternate way to avoid pain but clinging to God and His Promises helps you learn to push through. You confront the truths, maybe while you face more hurt and trouble, but you can do it declaring the goodness of God at every juncture. The power of Praise will defy all of the work of the enemy as well as our flesh and emotions. It will free us from an earthly mindset in a way we could not have imagined.
▪︎
Are you traveling in a similar way? Worship your way through it.

"Sing to God, sing praises to his name; lift up a song to him who rides through the deserts; his name is the Lord; exult before him!"
-Psalm 68

This is, in social media terms, an old old piece. I forgot I even did this. I was experimenting with pens and fonts. It was kind of the good old days when I had a little bit more time in the mornings before work.

I am probably not the closest to God right now as I have been at other times. This is due to many factors, many of which I cannot control but also my own weaker effort because I have a limited amount of time and also, I've been lazy about it. Still, I wake up in the morning and He hasn't held a grudge against me, been vindictive, held back His Grace or taken His Love away. How He feels about us is inexplicable really from a human perspective. The Love He possesses for us, is the most powerful force that exists, because if we accept it, we can become like Him. We too can be graceful and loving even to those that do not reciprocate at our level or at all. The current times demand this of followers of Christ. Regardless of our personal affiliations or opinions, we're called to love God first and then love others. We do this by staying close to God (I'm being a hypocrite here) and then living our lives in accordance with His Will. That includes preaching the Gospel, being godly, sacrificing, forgiving, being generous and basically being willing to live or die for the same people that Jesus did those very things for. So, if you woke up this morning, these are your 2 primary objectives: love God, love others. He has shown you how he feels about you. Now let the Love of God move you to be like Him.

"Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40

This is crazy. I've been on this app for 10 years and in that time, I've met unbelievably good people. I made a lot of friends. Sadly, a few of those good people left earth but happily, passed from this life to eternity. And others are my friends even today. I just want you to know friends, that I value you and I am extremely grateful for you. Kindness and care that remains resistant to the hardness of this world and that lives in the big places and the small corners of these social media platforms, WILL continue to shine bright. We won't deny Jesus' will for our lives and that includes loving others by sharing His Word and our resources. Thank you for making this world brighter.

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."
John 15:1-8

I am posting this because it's true and needs to be shared. But I haven't been abiding like I did before. I can see the futility of attempting to accomplish good, spiritual things while not being connected to Jesus. It's frustrating and useless. So, I'm going to strive to remain in Him in order to be the disciple I was re-born to be. I hope this helps you if you're also striving.
