You may have heard already... 👀 A stylist recently volunteered at Ronald McDonald House: Shreveport-Bossier and got to break in the Well-Being Salon! 💇‍♀️🪮

One mom got her first haircut in two years on her visit. ❤️

The Well-Being Salon is so important at Ronald McDonald House. It gives families a chance to wind down and take care of themselves when the pressure of taking care of their ill or injured child seems to be insurmountable.

Today, we celebrate the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, and father figures who show up with strength, love, and unwavering support when their families need them most.

Whether they're spending long days at the hospital bedside, finding moments of joy during difficult times, or simply being a comforting presence, fathers play an important role in a child's healing journey.

Happy Father's Day to all the incredible dads in our Ronald McDonald House community and beyond. Thank you for all you do. ❤️

✨ Family Friday ✨

While Nathan's baby sister was in the NICU and his tenth birthday was approaching, he worried it might pass without much celebration. Just another day far from home while his family focused on the hospital. 🏥

Rosario, a volunteer in Fort Smith who had spent a lot of time with the children in the Ronald McDonald House, casually asked about his favorite cake flavor. Nathan didn't suspect a thing.

Until his birthday arrived. Rosario had baked his favorite cake, and the room was decorated with Super Mario Bros. and Sonic the Hedgehog, his favorite characters. 🎂🎈

Other siblings gathered to celebrate with him, turning what could have been a lonely day into something fun and shared. When it was time for dessert, Nathan made sure every one of his new friends got a piece before taking one himself.

Then he turned to Daleana, the program manager, and said, "This is a big memory. I'll remember this forever."

After the celebration, Nathan started finding little "party favors" to hand out to friends and staff. Small rocks and other treasures he could collect.

During his stay, Nathan has helped plant peppers and herbs in the raised garden outside. In the midst of a difficult season for his family, he has continued showing up for his baby sister while staying at Ronald McDonald House: Fort Smith.

In May, community-led fundraising events raised an incredible $80,000 in support of Ronald McDonald House Arkansas & North Louisiana.

From the generosity of participants and organizers at Aces for Edi, Buzz BQ, the Southwest Power Pool Golf Tournament, the Bumper to Bumper Car Show, and Club Car Wash, families with hospitalized children received the comfort, care, and support they need during some of life's most difficult moments.

When you choose Ronald McDonald House as the beneficiary of your event, you're doing more than raising funds. You’re helping provide a home away from home for families who need to stay close to their child’s medical care.

Meet The Red Shoe Club at Fayetteville High School! This dedicated group of volunteers helps Ronald McDonald House: Washington Regional by raising awareness of the mission, making hot meals for families through Meals from the Heart, and hosting wishlist drives to help stock pantry items.

❤️ More recently, they supported by purchasing a heart for the Heart Wall! The funds from this go straight to Ronald McDonald House: Washington Regional while allowing their name and service to live in the program for years to come.

We are so grateful for how cheers on Ronald McDonald House families through everyday moments.

In Arkansas and North Louisiana, 1 penny from every FIFA World Cup Happy Meal™ purchased at McDonald's helps support Ronald McDonald House families in our programs.

That support helps provide a place to stay, meals, and comfort so families can focus on what matters most, the health and healing of their child.

One of the ways Ronald McDonald House serves more families even when there's a long waitlist is by using day use in our in-hospital programs. Day use of a Ronald McDonald House program includes hot showers, access to laundry facilities, snacks and meals, and programs that connect your family with others going through similar troubles.

This Family Friday, we thought we would highlight one of the moms who was a regular face at Ronald McDonald House Family Room: UAMS while baby Kar'Mani, born at only 26 weeks, got stronger in the NICU.

"There were times I wasn’t able to afford food and the Ronald McDonald House helped with that need every time," mom says. "I could sit in there however long I wanted and just communicate with other parents about their journey. It was definitely a supportive community."

Mom's favorite part was a hot shower on a long day and being able to "be light" with others going through similar struggles. Day use is an important way that families can still use facilities within Ronald McDonald House when they need it most, and we are so happy that gracious donors make it possible.
