SATURDAY 10/10 ADOPTION SHOWING!

We have a few adorable reasons you should come by CARE this Saturday! Shade and Brownie will be there and want to meet YOU. Plus, pictures don't do Shade's handsomeness any justice. Even if you're not in the market for a new family member, meeting them and even helping spread the word they're looking for homes would mean the world to them and us.

An EXTRA special reason to come by and see us: Sit Bits will be popping up at our adoption showing tomorrow.

What started as a Boy Scout entrepreneurship project became a family effort, with three young entrepreneurs helping source and package dog treats, create the artwork, and film a training video you can access through their packaging’s QR code...and, of course, Lila had a very important job as taste tester. We love a business supporting positive reinforcement!

Stop by to meet the kids behind Sit Bits, let your pup try a sample, and pick up a bag—$3 from every bag sold will be donated to CARE!

Sit Bits will be here 10-12pm and doggos will be around 11-2pm!

Short-term foster needed! Until 10/14!

If you haven't heard his story or his caretaker's yet, meet Duke. He was the pup that got pretty banged up when he ran off with his siblings into the woods. Once he was seen by the vet, an incredible foster hero stepped in so he could recover inside a safe and cozy home. This foster hero is SO incredible, she's willing to continue to foster once she returns from a trip.

So, Duke needs someone just until Oct. 13th/14th if you're willing to have a reallllll cute temporary house guest.

Here's Duke's resume:
-He does great in his kennel. It’s his safe space, and he keeps it clean!
-He listens well and learns quickly. Treats certainly help with motivation.
-Mr. Smarty Pants is doing great with potty training. He’s learning that outside is the place to go (though accidents can still happen, keep that in mind!)
-He would really benefit from a home with another dog or two! Duke is still learning that he’s safe after facing some scary things so early in life. Other dogs help him build confidence and teach him how to dog. It's actually quite adorable watching him so eager to learn from other dogs. We try to join in on the zoomies, but apparently we’re just not as fun.

Already submitted a foster application? If you’d like to hang out with Duke, please send us a reminder at [email protected]. If you haven’t heard from us yet, we appreciate your patience as we catch up after a busy summer and several transitions.

Need to apply? Start here:

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who has donated, helped install fencing at Mr. C’s home to better protect Duke’s siblings, or shared his story. 💕

Have connections or ideas that could help? Please email [email protected] directly.

Community Cats is a HUGE resource for Central Arkansas (and beyond). They’ve helped so many and now it’s our turn to help them. So they can continue helping all of us!

🚨 WE CANNOT KEEP GOING WITHOUT HELP.🚨

This is one of the harder posts for us to make, but we need to be completely transparent about where we are right now.

Our rescue funds are depleted.

The screenshot you’re seeing is our reality. There isn’t a reserve account waiting in the background. There isn’t emergency funding coming from somewhere else. We are a nonprofit rescue funded by donations, and right now, we simply do not have the money to keep saying yes, and the emergencies have not stopped.

This weekend alone, FOUR cats have come to us with broken legs. On top of those four, we are caring for sick cats, injured cats, critical cases and animals needing immediate veterinary treatment. We have 199 cats and kittens in our program right now.

Every time the phone rings, we wonder how we are going to pay for the next one.

We have always tried to be the rescue that says yes when an animal is hurting and has nowhere else to go. We take the broken ones, the sick ones, the expensive ones, and the one who need surgery instead of euthanasia.

But compassion cannot pay a veterinary bill. We need our community behind us.

Right now, we desperately need donations to replenish our emergency medical funds so we can continue providing care to the animals already depending on us and continue answering the calls that will inevitably come tomorrow.

If you’ve ever followed one of our medical cases, celebrated a recovery with us, adopted from us, shared our posts or simply believed in what we do, this is the moment we need you.

Every single donation adds up when enough people decide that these animals are worth saving.

❤️ Please donate if you can. Please share if you can’t.
We don’t want to stop saying yes, but without funding, we will have no choice.

*FOSTER NEEDED*

We are in need of a temporary foster for Reba from this Saturday (10/3) to next Monday (10/12) while her current foster is out of town.

Reba is an 11-month-old spayed female cat who likes all kinds of cat toys and snuggling up to her person. She is also good with other cats once she has been properly introduced, but for a week, she will do well if she has a dedicated room with all the things she needs.

CARE will provide all necessary supplies, cover all veterinary expenses, and provide any assistance you may need for as long as you foster. If you're interested in fostering Reba or want to learn more about fostering, fill out a foster application at https://www.careforanimals.org/foster-application. 🐾💕
