We’re six days out from election day, and Meta has done it again. Last night, in the middle of a Florida campaign rally with Angie Nixon and AOC, they shut down the Latinas con Angie account that was sharing out the event, just the way they did the No Kings account on Vote Early Day and Lula-connected accounts during Brazil’s elections this month.

Meta’s shameless attempt to block the ability of voters to access critical information about an impending election, just days before election day, is shocking and unforgivable. They will surely run the same play they do every time: blame some sort of technical glitch, say they apologize, but then do nothing to prevent this from happening again…and again and again.

The story here was the same story they tried to tell in Brazil. This isn’t an isolated incident – this is all one fight, about who gets to have power in our democracy. Meta wants it to be them, instead of voters.

Here’s what to do about it.

Tell your Member of Congress: Reject tech billionaire influence on elections
They’re trying to limit your vote. But we know that the most effective tool against voter suppression right now is overwhelming, unprecedented, Godzilla-crushing-Tokyo-levels of turnout. Don’t believe polls. Don’t relax in the warm comfort of over-confident pundits. Do everything you can to turn out every eligible voter you can.

The Constitution is clear: states run elections. States get to decide what works best for their voters and communities, rather than following a one-size-fits-all rule. Every state counts, checks, and audits ballots, then compiles and certifies results on a schedule set by state law — but that schedule varies, state by state. And in races with razor-thin margins, final results can take even longer.

That’s why results reported on election night are never official. These are partial, unofficial counts based on the votes counted so f

Understand the election results process and why official counts may vary due to state laws and counting methods.
