RFK is led by Christ followers who share a common goal with people of good will in caring for those Jesus referred to as, “The least of these.” In our case, children of neglect, abuse, and abandonment. Our Christian faith is woven into everything that we do as respond to Jesus Christ’s call to love and to serve. We pursue this mission through our holistic commitment to:

Royal Family KIDS – Lancaster County, NE began in 2001 as a project of Mission Nebraska after a number of their staff had been involved with a Royal Family Kids’ Camp in the Hastings area. In 2002, Mission Nebraska began to hand off this camp to five local churches and by 2003, this transition was complete. The organization has continued to minister to the abused and neglected kids of Lancaster County since 2001, offering a one-week camp usually in late July in which we bring 50-75 kids out for a great week of positive memories of fun activities with other kids and loving adults. In 2013, we launched Royal Family KIDS Club and mentorships here in Lincoln, so we have opportunities now to see and minister to our campers nearly all year long.

With camp being a week long, overnight experience, our volunteers all have to take a week off of their lives, usually requiring a week off of work. Our campground is AMAZING 🤩 and our campers come for FREE 🫶. With all of this comes financial requirements. We ask our volunteers to consider camp a local missions trip and try to help support themselves by providing $500. This is NOT a requirement, but definitely something that helps us continue offering camp to as many kids as possible. So something new we're trying this year is to build personal donation pages for our volunteers!
