📚In honor of National Book Lovers' Day, this is your reminder that there's a cozy reading nook tucked behind the main gathering area at Mourning Hope. The shelves are stocked with books for all ages on various grief topics, and they're available to anyone who would like to read them. Check them out to take home, or stay awhile and read. You are welcome here!

Thank you to the Rogers Foundation for making this special space possible!

⛺Camp Erin is coming up in October, and we could use a few more caring volunteers! If you have a heart for kids and teens experiencing grief and believe that grief and joy can coexist, we want to meet you. Get info and an application at mourninghope.org/camperin.

José Villalpando's camp journey started as part of a college internship, and it made such an impact that he's been back every year since. He says that this kind of an experience would have been so helpful to him when he was young, and so he loves being part of providing it for others. He works with the older teens, who he says "can be some of the most likely to really hold in their grief, like I did... but when they are able to open up, those experiences really shine."

Camp Erin® Lincoln is a free bereavement camp for youth grieving the death of a significant person in their lives. Children and teens ages 6 to 17 attend a weekend-long, overnight camp experience that combines grief education and emotional support with fun, traditional camp activities. Led by bereavement professionals and caring volunteers, campers are provided a safe environment to explore their grief, learn essential coping skills, and make friends with peers who are also grieving.

Thank you to the staff of Hill Elementary School for including Mourning Hope in your back-to-school activities! This amazing group spent the morning with us to learn more about the programs and services at Mourning Hope and how they can support students who are grieving.

We love welcoming school groups to Mourning Hope, and encourage teachers and administrators to use us as a resource whenever they're supporting a student who has experienced a death loss. We are here to walk alongside you and the families you serve!

The only way they could be more powerful is with YOUR help! Join the Wonder Women at mourninghope.org/wonderwomen, and save the date for a super celebration on September 9. We'll see you there, heroes!

"How do I carry everything you were and still feel this alone?"

During our most recent Mourning Hope Art From Our Heart program, visual artist Alison Rash and author Kerri Denell led participants through a writing exercise about their person that then prompted word paintings, and we found this one especially powerful. Thank you to artist Makaela for sharing it with us. 💜

How about a round of applause and a virtual hug for these beautiful humans? Earlier this week our most recent Family Grief Support Group wrapped up, and these are the volunteer facilitators (plus superstar staff members Hope and Joules!) who made it all happen. Some have grief stories of their own. Some have been participants in Mourning Hope programs in the past. Some are students studying to be social workers or therapists. ALL have hearts for children and families who are experiencing grief, and we are so grateful for their time and care! 💜

Want to learn more about volunteering at Mourning Hope? There are so many opportunities, and your time and talents make a real difference for kids and families. Get the info at mourninghope.org/volunteer!
