Whether your family is seeking a space to reconnect with peers who understand or simply needs a gentle reminder that you are not walking this journey alone, Holding Hope offers a safe, compassionate place to share, remember, and heal together.

Happy World Mental Health Day! The theme of the 2026 commemoration is "Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change," and that sentiment is at the core of our work at Mourning Hope. Finding people who truly understand what you're experiencing can make all the difference, and every day we work to be a place where those connections are created for people who are grieving.

Today and every day, remember to be kind to yourself and give yourself grace. You deserve connection and support, and we're here when you need us. 💜

We already knew that Ellen Beans is inspirational, and we're glad to see the message spreading far and wide! Congratulations to the 2026 Inspire: Celebrating Women's Leadership Awards winner for Excellence in Philanthropy, who is also a member of the Mourning Hope Board of Trustees and a Wonder Woman (how fitting!).

The work Mourning Hope does is possible because of so many amazing organizations, companies, and individuals who also believe that no one should have to grieve alone.

This week, our friends at John Henry's Plumbing, Heating, Air, and Electrical stopped by with a generous donation that will help keep our services free to anyone who needs them, always. Kenzi and Rose stayed for a tour of our facility and shared stories of their own, and we're so grateful for their time and thoughtfulness.

A BIG thank you to our friends from Ameritas! On United Way Day of Caring, they came in like a wrecking crew to clean, prep, organize, and make our home as warm and comfortable as possible for the families we serve. If all of our furniture is looking particularly refreshed and spot-free lately, these are the ladies to thank! It's always a good day when our amazing community partners show up with helpful hands and open hearts. 💜

💥Event announcement! We couldn't be more excited to present "Every Story Matters: Honoring Identity, Culture, and Lived Experience in Grief Support" on Thursday, November 12. This full-day learning event featuring nationally recognized speakers is dedicated to helping grieving children and families feel seen, supported, and understood. Whether you work in healthcare, mental health support, a school setting, or simply care about supporting kids through grief, this event is for you.

Seating is limited for this special event, so we recommend that you register now at mourninghope.org/everystory!

Your $25 registration fee covers the cost of a light breakfast, lunch, and snacks. We want this program to be accessible to everyone, so if cost is a concern, please reach out!

Across three sessions, you will explore how who we are and the identities we carry influence how we grieve and how we support others experiencing grief. A special community panel with leaders from local cultural organizations will bring these topics home to Lincoln. You'll leave with practical tools, new insights, and skills for providing compassionate, inclusive care.
