Some are homeless; some are just down on their luck. But all are alone without shelter on Christmas morning. We named our effort after the Flores de Noche Beuna, which translates to Flowers of the Holy Night, a Mexican legend of a humble gift to baby Jesus. That first Christmas in 2012, Lori and I each chipped in $50 to buy as many socks, hats, mittens, chap-sticks, and packaged snacks as we could
afford. On Christmas morning, we drove around the city, passing out gift bags to people who were walking to and from the People’s City Mission. That year, we ended up handing out care packages to about 20 people. In 2013, we handed out over 50 gift bags. In 2014, thanks to your support, Flores de Noche Beuna had an army of volunteers in multiple vehicles, driving all over the city of Lincoln to deliver care packages to over 200 homeless people on Christmas morning! LET’S MAKE 2015 A RECORD YEAR! HOW CAN YOU HELP? DONATE MONEY ~ If you want to donate money to our cause, all financial donations are appreciated. We have several shopper volunteers who will be purchasing items en mass before gift bag assembly. You can send your financial donations to my office:
Payable to: FdNB or Flores de Noche Beuna
Mail or drop by: C/O NAPOLITANO LAW

DONATE PURCHASED ITEMS ~ We are packaging items that will fit in a gallon sized zip lock bag. We always need gallon sized zip lock bags, but to go inside of the bags, we need: hand warmers, socks, gloves, hats, hand sanitizer, small shampoos or soaps, lip balm, granola bars, small packs of nuts or other protein sources, packages of soup mix, canned food, candy, trial size toiletries, etc. DONATE YOUR TIME ~If you want to join either the Assembly Team (the week before Christmas) or the Delivery Team (Christmas morning, starting at 10am), please let us know asap. When delivering on Christmas morning, we offer gift bags to people who are going into and coming out of the shelters that serve food on Christmas. We keep going until we run out of care packages. Thanks for reading this far! Please pass this page on to anyone you think might be interested in helping or joining us. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy 2016!
