A note to our community, and to the trolls 🏳️🌈
If you've spent any time on our page lately, you've probably noticed the comment sections getting a little more crowded with hate. Some of it comes from real people who apparently have nothing better to do. A lot of it comes from accounts that were clearly created five minutes ago: no profile photo, no friends, no posts, just a random string of numbers for a name and a whole lot of confidence for someone who won't show their face.
So here's a friendly PSA for anyone thinking about typing something hateful in our comments:
We will delete it. Not "consider it," delete it. This page exists to celebrate and support our LGBTQ+ community in Logan County, and that means it is not a platform for harassment, slurs, or "just asking questions" that are really just hate with a question mark at the end.
Repeat offenders get blocked. We're a small nonprofit with limited time and a lot of actual work to do. We're not going to spend it debating our right to exist with an account whose profile picture is a default egg.
To the bots specifically: we see you. The copy-paste hate comments, the accounts with usernames like a keyboard smash, the profiles with zero history, you're not fooling anyone, and you're definitely not changing any minds. If anything, you're just giving our team a good laugh before we hit delete.
For everyone who's here to genuinely engage, celebrate, and support this community, thank you. You're the reason we do this work, and we're not going anywhere. We'd just appreciate it if the hate went somewhere else. Preferably nowhere.
