ABATE of Illinois stands for freedom of choice, plain and simple.

We are NOT anti-helmet. We support every rider’s right to decide what protective gear is best for them. What we oppose is government mandates that take that choice away from responsible adults.

Riding is about freedom, and that includes the freedom to choose.

Let’s be clear: this is about personal responsibility, not government control. Riders should be educated, aware, and empowered to make their own decisions, not forced into a one-size-fits-all mandate.

Stand with us to protect the right to ride and the right to choose. # 🏍

ABATE of Illinois is NOT anti-helmet.
We support every rider’s right to make their own decisions when it comes to safety gear.

Our mission has always been about freedom of choice — not government mandates. We believe educated riders should have the ability to decide what’s best for themselves when they hit the road.

This isn’t about being for or against helmets.
It’s about standing up for the rights of motorcyclists across Illinois. 🏍

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that ABATE of Illinois shares the passing of Pauli Ward, who left us last night.

Pauli meant the world to this organization. For more than 40 years, she was our backbone, our constant, and a tireless freedom fighter for motorcyclists across Illinois. Her dedication, strength, and unwavering commitment helped shape ABATE of Illinois into what it is today.

Her passion for the motorcycling community, her willingness to always step up, and her fierce advocacy for riders’ rights touched countless lives and will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Pauli’s family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing her. We ask our ABATE family to keep them close in your hearts during this incredibly difficult time.

Funeral arrangements will be announced soon.

Rest easy, Pauli. Your legacy rides on forever. 🖤🏍️
