We are doing a Courtesy Post to help this handsome boy named Ace find a home that is perfect for him. One where he has a doggie playmate.😍 He is only 8 months old.

I have made the decision to rehome Ace because he is not doing well alone without another dog. He is such a sweet, cuddly dog. He’s loving and empathetic, as well as goofy and playful. The issue is he needs a home with at least one other dog and owners who are home a lot because of how bad his separation anxiety is. I’m not in the position to give him the buddy that he desperately needs for guidance and comfort when I’m not home.
Some facts about Ace: He’s 8 months old, born on Christmas day 2025. He’s a St. Bernard, Great Pyrenees, and Catahoula mix. He’s struggling with training so he will be a project, but he has the potential to be such a good family dog. He lived in a home with kids before me so he’s good with kids, but I’m not sure about kids under the age of 8 because that was the youngest kid in the home. He’s good with cats, chickens, and ducks. He does have occasional food aggression with my cats, but not humans. I’ve been working with him on it. He’s up to date on all shots, but is not fixed. He can be skittish and shy. He needs another dog desperately. The home he was in for four months before me had other dogs and he was crated with another dog most of the time. I think that’s why he hates being left alone. So, my requirements are that you have at least one other dog and a ton of time and patience for him.
Please share! He’s $100 to a loving home who can accommodate him. I feel so bad doing this, but I know there is a better home out there for him than I can give him. Located in Decatur, IL. Must provide vet reference(s).
