WORDSTOCK has grown in ways we could only dream about when we started.

2023: 400 attendees
2024: 800 attendees
2025: 1600 attendees
2026: 4300 attendees

That’s more than 10x the attendance in just four years!!!

Behind every number are families finding books, kids discovering new stories, and our community coming together around a shared love of reading.

Thank you, Lincoln, for showing us just how much our community believes in the power of books. We can’t wait to see where WORDSTOCK goes next. 💛

That’s a wrap on WORDSTOCK 2026!

Thank you to every family, reader, volunteer, sponsor, community partner, author, celebrity reader, food vendor, and donor who helped make this year’s WORDSTOCK possible.

Together, we put thousands of books into the hands of children and families, creating opportunities to build home libraries and keep the joy of reading going all year long.

We’re so grateful for a community that continues to show up for books, literacy, and one another.

Today, our hearts are a little broken. 💔

Dolly Parton gave the world so much. Her music, her stories, her joy, and her unmistakable way of being completely and unapologetically herself.

But the part of her legacy we are especially honored to know is her belief in the power of books.📚

In 1995, Dolly started the Imagination Library in her home county in East Tennessee, inspired by her father and his inability to read and write. What began as a way to make sure children in her community had books of their own grew into something extraordinary.

Today, because of Dolly’s vision, millions of children around the world receive a book in the mail every single month.

And right here in Lancaster County, more than 6,500 little readers get to be part of that story.

We have the incredible privilege of helping carry Dolly’s vision forward in our own community through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Every month, another book arrives. Another child gets mail with their name on it. Another family gets a chance to snuggle up and read together.

And that will keep happening.

What a beautiful thing to leave behind.

Thank you, Dolly, for the music, the laughter, the stories, and for believing that putting books into the hands of children could change their lives.

We’ll keep sending the books. ❤️🔗📚

A look back at WORDSTOCK 2026!

We watched thousands of books find new homes, children engage in storytime at the Bandshell, families participate in activities, local authors spread their creativity, community partners connect with others, and so many volunteers keep our mission moving. WORDSTOCK was a celebration of everything we love about books and our community.

We’re so grateful to everyone who made this year’s WORDSTOCK one to remember.

WORDSTOCK is bringing together a lineup of incredible local nonprofit organizations, giving families a chance to discover resources, learn about programs, and connect with organizations serving our community every day.

Also, we’re honored to remember the colorful spirit of Susie Schleiger at WORDSTOCK this year. Thanks to gifts made in her memory, children will have the opportunity to tie-dye a shirt to take home, for free.
