Sometimes, it starts with a book that sparks curiosity, a character who makes a child feel seen, or a shared story that brings a family closer.

At Linked2Literacy, we believe every child deserves access to books and literacy experiences that open doors to new possibilities.

Through community partnerships, we’re putting inclusive books into little hands, equipping caregivers with literacy tools, and creating opportunities for children and families to learn, connect, and grow.

It starts with a book, and sometimes, it starts with the excitement of seeing one in the mailbox.

One of our Imagination Library families recently shared this sweet note about their 11-month-old’s growing love of books.

He may be little, but those moments matter. Every story shared is an opportunity to build connection, spark curiosity, and grow a love of reading that can last a lifetime.

Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, children receive a free, age-appropriate book every month. Linked2Literacy helps fund those books right here in our community, making these little moments possible for local families.

We love seeing our community get creative about getting books into little hands!

This month, mahjong players from Omaha and Lincoln are coming together for a Dolly-inspired fundraiser benefiting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Lancaster County.

And the best part? 50% of all proceeds will help fund the monthly books local children receive through the program.

Sunday, October 25 | 2–5 PM
Quarry Oaks Golf Club, Ashland, NE
$45 per person, including table setup and dancing!

Plus, children’s author Silvia Conley will be there with copies of her mahjong book!

What could your company make possible for local kids?

Through Imagination 100, businesses and individuals can help fund Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library right here in Lancaster County, where Linked2Literacy helps cover the cost of the books mailed to local children every month.

Here are two ways to make a big impact:

$3,200 | 100 Kids Champion
Help provide a full year of monthly books for 100 children.

$10,000 | Imagination 100 Sponsor
Help provide a full year of monthly books for approximately 300 children.

BAYLOR EVNAN JUST SHOWED US WHAT OUR COMMUNITY CAN DO.

Their Imagination 100 campaign raised $2,880.14, enough to provide 90 local children with a full year of books through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Here’s the part we want more people to know: the books may have Dolly’s name on them, but the funding that keeps them coming to local children comes from our community.

Linked2Literacy helps fund every book mailed through the Imagination Library in our community, which means we need businesses, families, teams, friend groups, and big-hearted people like YOU to help keep it going.

So, what could your Imagination 100 campaign do?

Host a fundraiser. Challenge your coworkers. Get your friends involved.

However you do it, you’re helping put books in the hands of local children every single month.

While Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library gets the books to children, Linked2Literacy provides the funding that makes those books possible right here in our community.

That means this incredible number is a reflection of what our community is making happen.

However, there are still children to reach, books to fund, and imaginations to fuel.

That’s why we’re asking businesses and individuals to start an Imagination 100 campaign. Together, you can help fund books local children.

Reading together helps children build language, curiosity, connection, and a lifelong love of stories. It doesn’t have to be complicated. All it takes is a few minutes, a favorite book, and someone willing to read.

Three years of little readers discovering new stories.
Three years of helping build home libraries and a love of reading from the very beginning.

Come celebrate with Linked2Literacy + Lincoln Children’s Museum!

Start your morning with playtime, then stop by the temporary Linked2Literacy library to pick out a FREE book to take home. We’ll also have bookmark making, cake, and plenty of reasons to celebrate!
