The Nebraska Juvenile Justice Association is a non-profit organization founded in 1974 to provide statewide training for persons and professionals interested in juvenile justice issues. In the beginning, conferences were small events of 30-40 people. Over the years, the NJJA annual conference has grown to become the premiere juvenile justice conference in the state, providing training and educatio

n to over 300 professionals statewide. Through our website, NJJA strives to be a resource for juvenile justice professionals year round by providing: access to juvenile justice resources; information about emerging policy initiatives and best practices; recognition of the exceptional efforts of professionals in our field; and information about training and professional development opportunities.

The Juvenile Justice Institute team is excited to be at the Nebraska Juvenile Justice Association conference this week! Four members of our team are here and we are enjoying connecting with practitioners, partners, and colleagues from across the state.

If you haven’t stopped by our exhibitor table yet, come say hello! We have plenty of JJI swag, resources, and information about the services we offer - including research partnerships, program evaluation, training and technical assistance, and other ways we can support youth-serving organizations and systems.

Kicking off the 2026 NJJA Conference with Joe Beckman! He started us off with an exercise he calls Little Victories. Our little victory this morning is having everyone here doing the work they do to make a change.

Wrapping up Day 2 with powerful presentations and impactful topics that truly reignited our passion for working with youth in the juvenile justice system. The insight and inspiration shared today reminded us not just of what we do — but why we do it. Grateful for the knowledge, energy, and purpose these presenters brought to the table!
