In two meetings this week, Urban County Councilmembers will review, discuss and finalize their recommendations for the Mayor's proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2027. Among Councilmembers' budget requests: More than $141,000 for building security upgrades, $1 million for city vehicle fleet maintenance, and $1.5 million for ADA compliance.

Last week, during May 5th's Social Services and Public Safety Committee, Councilmembers got an update on the activities of Lexington's Code Enforcement Department, including fresh details about how it wants to use artificial intelligence to guide enforcement.
