🗳️ Election season is in full swing! Join us in a few weeks at Crawford Middle School on October 28th, 6-8pm for a Council At-Large Candidate Forum and Ice Cream Social! This event will feature all six Council At-Large Candidates answering your questions in-person about the biggest topics in Lexington. Free ice cream and light refreshments will also be available!

​Bring your own questions or sit in on conversations with candidates about: Student Housing, Data Centers, Homelessness, Complete Streets, and Gun Violence Prevention. There will also be an open question session.

Following a lengthy public hearing Tuesday, Lexington’s Urban County Council moved to extend Fayette County’s pause on data center development until October 31, 2027, as the body continues working to regulate them.

This fall, there will be three Charter amendments on your ballot that cover Councilmember pay, Council accountability expectations, and Charter review. If you're curious about where these amendments came from and what they mean for Lexington, join us on October 20th from 6-8pm at the Carnegie Center! During its September 10th meeting, Council passed an ordinance that adopts the Complete Streets Design Manual as a guide for infrastructure development in Lexington. On Tuesday, September 15th, the Environmental Quality and Public Works Committee will receive a presentation on the status of Vision Zero & Complete Streets as it begins the implementation phase.

The newsroom cuts at the Herald-Leader yesterday are devastating to the folks who lost their jobs, those who still work there, and to our entire Lexington community. Local news is absolutely essential to have a strong community and strong civic health.

The city's Wi******er Road Corridor Study is moving forward with two events this week.

First, on Tuesday, the Council's General Government and Planning Committee will review the project's status. Later in the week, the public can offer feedback and learn more at an open house.
