As the school year comes to an end, the Southern Maryland Chapter of the Maryland Environmental Literacy Advisory Network (MELAN) would like to invite you to our end-of-the-year celebration!

Attendees can expect to share resources, learn about plants, get their hands dirty in the garden, pick out a free native plant (or two), network with others, and enjoy a light lunch!

THE ADDAMS FAMILY MUSICAL! AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT

THE ADDAMS FAMILY, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and a dilemma that’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family—a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before—keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents. (From TheatricalRights.com)

Last week St. Mary's County Arts Council participated in the Community Stakeholder Engagement sessions held by St. Mary's County Recreation & Parks throughout St. Mary’s County.

They have an important message! Citizen input is vital, especially with the future of arts programming. Share your vision for the arts in our community!

"It was a pleasure engaging with new and returning citizens to learn more about your ideas and goals. We hosted 8 community events in 3 days and greatly appreciate your input to help guide the next 5 years of planning for Recreation & Parks services and programming.

The online platform will be available through early July, so please encourage everyone you know to provide their input for our community’s future."
