We are overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness that people have shown to Camp Maria, the McKay family, and to directly support Brady's wish to have a pavilion at Camp Maria. Over the last few days over $30,000 has been raised by over 190 donors (more details at campmaria.org). Simply incredible and a testimony to the way that Brady lived his life and connected with people.

It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform the Camp Maria community of the passing of Brady Winston McKay. This incredible young man entered the world 24 years ago surrounded by love, upheld by faith, and deeply cherished by his family and friends. On May 23, 2026, he left it the very same way… wrapped in the love of those closest to him and carried home by a God who adored him completely.

The McKay family is directly involved in Special Love's BRASS Camp which is hosted here at Camp Maria. BRASS (BRothers And SiSters) Camp is for siblings of children with cancer. It’s a week-long program with activities such as canoeing, arts & crafts, sports, and campfires, along with camaraderie and peer support. It also offers an open dialogue among campers and counselors to ensure siblings are enveloped in the same type of support as their parents and their brothers or sisters who are going through their cancer experience.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations may be made to the Brady Fund at Camp Maria Retreat Center (campmaria.org), home of BRASS Camp. It was Brady’s heartfelt wish to create an outdoor pavilion on the grounds. All contributions will go toward bringing his vision to life.
