The Maryland Commission on LGBTQIA+ Affairs has shared the Maryland LGBTQIA+ Community Needs Assessment: Comprehensive Findings Report.
This report represents the first comprehensive statewide LGBTQIA+ community needs assessment conducted by the Commission and reflects the experiences of more than 1,200 LGBTQIA+ Marylanders from every region of the state.
Completed in partnership with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and without dedicated funding, the report examines health care access, mental health, safety, housing, employment, community connection, and awareness of legal protections.
The findings highlight both the progress Maryland has made and the challenges that remain, while providing recommendations to help inform future policy, programs, and investments.
