💥Pop Quiz!💥

Chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis are all bacterial STIs that can be cured with what?

a. Good hygiene
b. Over the counter medication
c. Antibiotics
d. Antiretrovirals

**Lock in your answers now!**

The answer is C. Antibiotics!

SOME STIs are viruses. Those have treatable symptoms, but they aren't curable. Bacterial infections, however, are curable with antibiotics prescribed by a doctor!

If a person is s*xually active and they have any reason to believe that they may have come in contact with an STI, it is always a good idea to visit a doctors office to be tested.

It's !

Adolescent males have just as many health issues and concerns as adolescent females BUT they are much less likely to be seen in a clinical setting!*

Dr. Ron Sinha, M.D., from the Palo Alto Medical Foundation was interviewed for an article for StutterHealth.org and stressed the importance of teens and young men getting regular exams, vaccinations, and baseline testing.

The age of consent in North Carolina:

a. 17
b. 15
c. 16
d. 18

**Lock in your answers now!**

The answer is C. 16

This means that a person can not consent to have s*x with another person until they reach the age of 16.

Some of our middle school and high school students have told our educators that they think this is "too young".

What do you think?!

Preventing teenage pregnancy requires a comprehensive approach that includes education, communication, access to resources, and community support At CCAH, we provide the tools and resources necessary for young people to make informed choices and pursue their goals.

When parents, educators, healthcare providers, and community members all collaborate, we can create a supportive environment that empowers youth and helps prevent teenage pregnancy.

We're not saying these are the coolest students in the county..... we're just saying they sure act like the coolest students in the county!

The 2025-2026 Caldwell Youth Leadership Council worked hard this school year to gather hygiene supplies for a couple of county middle schools. Our staff was blown away by the number of donations that they received!

Their intention was to give middle school students, who may need help with their personal hygiene, a sense of dignity. And now, the supply closets are stocked FULL of toothpaste, feminine hygiene, body soap, shampoo, deodorant, and so much more!

In the comments below, please tell these students how proud Caldwell County is that THEY are the ones representing our community!
