This past month, pro-life legislators in the North Carolina General Assembly stood up for life by passing the “Care for Women, Children and Families Act” (SB 20) legislation that protects the unborn and provides critical resources to mothers and families.

Unfortunately, pro-abortion Governor Roy Cooper has vetoed this life-affirming bill. However, the state constitution allows for an override of the Governor’s veto if 60% of both chambers of the General Assembly vote to do so. We need you to contact your General Assembly members today to urge them to override the Governor’s veto and enact SB20!

The Care for Women, Children and Families Act will protect life at 12 weeks of development—a point at which an unborn baby may experience pain inside her mother’s womb, and he or she can be seen via ultrasonography sucking their thumb, yawning, and swallowing. Heartbreakingly, North Carolina law currently allows painful on demand abortions of babies up to 20 weeks, but this new law will give thousands of unborn North Carolinians a chance at life.

The Act also protects the unborn from discriminatory abortions based on s*x, race, or Down Syndrome diagnosis and guarantees that doctors provide care to babies born alive after a failed abortion.

Being pro-life means being pro-woman! The Act also exemplifies this by allocating at least $160 million towards resources for maternal health, childcare access, paid maternity leave, adoption, foster care, and other pro-family priorities.

Your pro-life General Assembly members took the first bold step in caring for both mom and baby in North Carolina. Now we need you to urge your members to override the Governor’s veto—ensuring that thousands of unborn North Carolinians will be protected, and their mothers and families supported, for generations to come.

As you know by now, the North Carolina General Assembly recently passed and sent to Gov. Roy Cooper “The Care for Women, Children and Families Act”, SB 20. This bill is the first legislation that provides some protections for unborn babies in North Carolina since the overturning of Roe V Wade in the Dobbs decision by SCOTUS June 24, 2022. Sadly, we know that statistically, 90% of all abortions occur before twelve weeks. This means that many, many babies with beating hearts will continue to die.

Today, Saturday, May 13, Gov. Roy Cooper vetoed that bill. What an insult to mothers in North Carolina and everywhere! Life is precious from the moment of conception. In every instance of abortion a baby dies. If abortion is healthcare, as the abortion advocates claim, just what disease is being cured or prevented?

North Carolina Right to Life recognizes that SB 20 is a first step towards a pro-life law that fully protects all unborn babies throughout pregnancy, and we will continue to fight towards that goal. We need your help.

Please take a moment to call the offices of and email the following legislators even if you are not in their district. Gov. Roy Cooper has directly targeted these legislators.

Be courteous. Inform them that you are a supporter of North Carolina Right to Life and that you want them to vote to override the Governor’s veto of SB 20. Thank them for their efforts to help protect the innocent lives of unborn babies. Please act before Tuesday.

Also, contact your own legislator if they supported the bill. We encourage you to do so. Be sure to mention that you support NC Right to Life as that helps us when we are in Raleigh lobbying on behalf of all unborn babies.

“When pregnant, the cells of the baby migrate into the mothers bloodstream and then circle back into the baby, it’s called “fetal-maternal microchimerism”.⁠

For 41 weeks, the cells circulate and merge backwards and forwards, and after the baby is born, many of these cells stay in the mother’s body, leaving a permanent imprint in the mothers tissues, bones, brain, and skin, and often stay there for decades. Every single child a mother has afterwards will leave a similar imprint on her body, too.

Even if a pregnancy doesn't go to full term or if you have an abortion, these cells still migrate into your bloodstream.

Research has shown that if a mother's heart is injured, fetal cells will rush to the site of the injury and change into different types of cells that specialize in mending the heart.

The baby helps repair the mother, while the mother builds the baby.

How cool is that?

This is often why certain illnesses vanish while pregnant.

It’s incredible how mothers bodies protect the baby at all costs, and the baby protects & rebuilds the mother back - so that the baby can develop safely and survive.

Think about crazy cravings for a moment. What was the mother deficient in that the baby made them crave?

Studies have also shown cells from a fetus in a mothers brain 18 years after she gave birth. How amazing is that?”

If you’re a mom you know how you can intuitively feel your child even when they are not there….Well, now there is scientific proof that moms carry them for years and years even after they have given birth to them.

I find this to be so very beautiful.
