The Tri Town Trail Association is currently building the Ledyard Phase One section. This is the northern most section of the TTT.

The Tri Town Trail Association, Inc., in conjunction with the Towns of Groton, Ledyard and Preston are planning a recreational trail from Bluff Point to Preston Community Park. This begins at the trail head across from the Preston Community Park. There is also parking in the field directly across from the entrance to the Park on Rt. 117. Signs are in the parking field and farther in near the bridge at Joe Clark Brook......there is on-going work by volunteers. It is available as a hiking path (1.4 miles, and growing) at this time. The Groton end at Bluff Point to the Marriott Hotel is in the planning stage. Donations can be mailed to Tri Town Trail Assoc, P.O.Box 482, Ledyard, CT 06339

Join Preston Parks, Recreation & Youth Services and the Tri-Town Trail Association, Inc for our annual Tree Lighting & Luminary Stroll on December 4th at Preston Community Park! 🎄

Kick off the holiday season with our FREE tree lighting and a visit with Santa beginning at 5:15 PM. Then, head to the track for the Tri Town Trail Association’s Luminary Stroll, featuring over 400 glowing luminaries! After your stroll, warm up with hot cocoa and enjoy music around the fire pit!

Attention Bluff Point lovers! Intermittent closures of the Bluff Point Loop Trail are anticipated during the week of November 2-6. Learn more about the restoration work at Bluff Point and stay in the loop with project updates at the link in bio! Official statement below.

Intermittent closures of a portion of the Bluff Point Loop Trail (marked in red on the map) are anticipated for the week of November 2-6. Remaining trails (marked in green) will stay open. The closure will allow geotechnical borings work, collecting sub-surface sediment samples, to inform the design of safe and effective structures that will be implemented as part of a future restoration project. This initiative will protect precious salt marsh habitat and improve public access from flooding on the trail, as shown in this photo. Upcoming work party to Blaze the Preston Spur!!! Meet up at Noon on the 20th of September at Preston Community Park. We will split into groups from there to add the dual blazes and do some light clean up on the Preston spur.

Dorothy is our Preston vice president, we are proud of her and her families support if our South East Connecticut Trails. Look forward to TTT future endeavors partnering with Connecticut Forest and Parks.

Meet Dorothy and Gary Piszczek, a father-daughter duo who've welcomed a section of the Pequot Trail onto their land. Their property tells centuries of stories: stone walls and foundations winding through successional forests, left behind from agriculture in the 1700s.

For three generations, the Piszczeks have called the Hellgate Farm home, sharing it with bobcats, coyotes, fisher cats, and the occasional black bear. Now, they share it with hikers too.

The Pequot Trail spans 8 miles from Ledyard to Preston. At the northern end of the trail, hikers pass beaver ponds, old pastures, and glimpses of the Thames River. Nearby land deeds can be traced back to ownership by the Mohegan Sachem Uncas. At its southern end, hikers can walk to the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center. Hikers of the Pequot Trail will be surrounded by local history at every turn!

Celebrate Connecticut Trails Day in Preston on Saturday, June 6th at 9:00 AM!
Explore the new loop trail at the Mary Dora Woodlands with a guided 2-mile hike through wetlands, cedar stands, and historic farming roads along the Pequot Trail and Tri Town Trail system.
The hike will be led by Tri Town Trail board member Dorothy Piszczek.
