We’re excited to share the first episode of the 35 Years of Community Living podcast.
Through data and storytelling, this series explores how community inclusion has shaped the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the country. It’s the story of how policy, data, and real lives intersect — and why community matters for all of us.
Episode 1 focuses on the History of Projects of National Significance, looking at how these national efforts helped shape research, policy, and practice around community living from the three directors' perspectives.
The 35 Years project is a collaboration between the National Residential Information Systems Project at the University of Minnesota, ThinkWork Access to Integrated Employment at UMass Boston, and the State of the States in I/DD at the University of Kansas.

We were honored to host Dr. Rebecca Hines, Commissioner of the Administration on Disabilities (AoD) at the Administration for Community Living, for a tour of our Center!

We had the opportunity to hear about her strategic vision for AoD and share about the impacts our work is having across Kansas and beyond.

Hosted in partnership with KU Special Education, we shared an afternoon of productive discussion about the future of disability supports and services. Thank you, Dr. Hines!
