We would like to express our appreciation to the tireless efforts of our teachers, students, judges, parents, and volunteers for their hard work and dedication this past weekend, which contributed significantly to the success and smooth operation of the Kansas Music Teachers Association’s State (as well as MTNA) Auditions. The District Auditions on Saturday were a tremendous success, with 289 entries. We are indebted to the teachers who generously donated their time to ensure the event's success. Their involvement facilitated a trouble-free experience. We commend the students on their impressive performances and look forward to seeing them at KU in a few weeks for State.

Kansas Music Teachers Association District Honors Auditions will soon take place in the Fall. Below is the info for District 1. Please visit https://ksmta.org/student-programs/auditions-pages-auditions/pre-college-auditions/ for more info or https://ksmta.org/student-programs/auditions-pages-auditions/registration-and-district-schedules/ to check the specific date for your assigned District. Registration is now open and will close Sept. 3rd @ 11:59 pm. We look forward to your enrollments! Don’t forget: we also offer Amateur Adult category (only competes at the Stare level on Sunday, Nov. 9).

🎶 Save the Date! 2025 KMTA District Auditions🎶

ATTENTION Piano and Strings Teachers: Mark your calendars! The Kansas Music Teachers Association District One Auditions will be held this Fall on October 11th at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS.

About the event: Students from elementary ages through high school play for an one-on-one adjudicated audition and receive written comments and a rating. *Don't forget: Amateur Adults category included! (will only compete at State)* Playing at District on Oct. 11th is the first step in a competitive audition - students receiving a Superior rating will be able to proceed to the competitive Kansas State auditions on November 8th at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. Piano students, Strings students, and Chamber groups (including piano duets) are all encouraged to participate. Enrollment Deadline: September 3, 2025 (Enrollment link will be open on the KMTA website in August)
District Auditions: Saturday, October 11, 2025 at MNU in Olathe
State Auditions: Saturday, November 8, 2025 at KU in Lawrence

Entry fee is $30 per student ($30.00 per duet entry, and $15 per student in chamber groups). Impending information re: District Auditions will be included in forthcoming KCMTA newsletters.

The KMTA District 1 & 2 Auditions were a triumph, thanks to the unwavering commitment of our teachers, parents, and spouses who volunteered their services to ensure the event's success.
