We had a wonderful time on Saturday at the Lawrence Public Library Multicultural Fair! The CREES table featured items from Poland, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Russia. Attendees could do crafts or pose with our Photo Booth props.

On Tuesday, Dr. Midori Samson gave a brownbag lecture titled "Oberih: Arts-based Mental Health Support for Ukrainians During Wartime." The lecture is now available to watch on our YouTube channel (link in comments). During the talk, Dr. Samson shared a poem she wrote during her work with Ukrainians, and she has given us permission to share that. You can read it in English and Ukrainian in the video here.

We are delighted to announce that Kaitlyn Carson and Dakota Morgan have won the 2026 CREES Security Affairs T2COM G2 Fellowship!
This semester-long fellowship provides students with the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the global security environment and how the U.S. military researches and describes the operational environment. The fellowship is a cooperative project of the U.S. Army Transformation and Training Command G2 (T2COM G2) at Fort Leavenworth, KU Center for Global and International Studies (CGIS), and KU Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies (CREES).
