Celebrating Bekah Morris as she begins her 5th school year with SparkWheel! 💛

As the Student Support Coordinator for preschool students at The Family Resource Center in Pittsburg, Bekah supports students in the classroom, during play, and throughout their day as they build focus, social skills, and confidence.

Bekah shows up for students, families, staff, and her building in so many meaningful ways, always ready to help however she can. We are grateful for the care, joy, and support she brings to the FRC and its “littles” every day.

Back-to-school celebrations are in full swing for Team Ignite. ❤

Across our Kansas City schools, SparkWheel Student Support Coordinators have been showing up for students, families, and staff as they prepare for a new school year.

Jesse Lopez joined Back to School Day at Guadalupe Centers High School, Vanessa Apodaca attended orientation at Frontier School of Innovation Middle School, Tera Wiggins presented during staff professional development at Frontier School of Excellence, and Craig Toombs connected with students and families at Back to School Night at Crossroads Preparatory Academy.

From family events to staff support, these moments help set the tone for a year filled with connection, resources, and student success.

Back-to-school season is all about creating a warm welcome and making sure students and families feel supported from day one. ❤

Across our Pittsburg-area schools, SparkWheel Student Support Coordinators have been helping students start the year with connection, confidence, and the resources they need.

At Pittsburg Middle School, Brenna Snider hosted a SparkWheel-sponsored resource table, where families received hygiene supplies and nearly 50 pairs of shoes. At The Family Resource Center, Bekah Morris welcomed students and families at Meet the Teacher night with snacks, juice, hygiene supplies, and a big smile. At Westside Elementary, Susie Ledbetter decorated her SparkWheel office door to match the school’s Under the Sea theme.

From essential resources to welcoming spaces, these moments show how SparkWheel supports students, families, and schools right where they are.

Supporting students takes strong community partnerships. ❤

Student Support Coordinators Kania Shain of Ottawa Middle School and Stefani Britton of Ottawa High School had the opportunity to attend the Franklin County Unity Fair in Ottawa, where SparkWheel was presented with a generous donation from the Franklin County United Way.

In addition, FRCO United Way has established a donation fund for SparkWheel that will support our school sites throughout the 2026–2027 school year, up to $1,500 in available funding.

We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and continued support of SparkWheel, our students, and the families we serve.

Support like this helps strengthen the services we provide across schools, ensuring students have access to the resources, relationships, and encouragement they need to succeed.

This funding helps us continue showing up where students need us most, directly inside the schools and communities they call home.

Community partnerships make student support stronger. ❤

For more than 10 years, United Way of El Dorado has supported SparkWheel programming at El Dorado Middle School, helping ensure students have access to the resources, relationships, and opportunities they need to succeed.

Their support goes beyond funding, from encouraging partner agencies to volunteer for FutureNow: Finance to creating space for local partners to connect and share updates.

Thank you to United Way of El Dorado and the partners who continue showing up for students, schools, and the El Dorado community.

Fresh starts begin with community support. ❤

SparkWheel was honored to be selected as part of the Elevate Event at H&R Block, hosted by Elevate, the company’s associate-driven belonging group focused on professional development, cultural awareness, and giving back to the community.

As part of their Juneteenth giveback initiative, Elevate hosted a donation drive at H&R Block headquarters in downtown Kansas City, collecting laundry soap for Team Ignite. Their theme said it best: “Share the Hope by Bringing the Soap: Because Everyone Deserves a Fresh Start.”

Thank you to Elevate, Tiffanie Starr, Demetrius Smiley, and the H&R Block team for supporting SparkWheel students and families through this meaningful effort.

SparkWheel extends our sincere thanks to Frontier School of Excellence Principal Mr. Kilic for welcoming us into his school and allowing us to film content for FIFA. We are also grateful to the Frontier School of Excellence students for sharing their time, experiences, and stories with us. Their voices helped bring the impact of student support to life in a powerful way.

We also thank Global Citizen for helping elevate the importance of education and student support, as well as the local reporters who shared SparkWheel’s story with the wider community.

Special thanks to Tera Wiggins, Crystalle Green, Carlos Kelly, Robb Yagmin, Triggered Media, and the SparkWheel Development Team for helping coordinate, support, capture, and make this opportunity possible through their grant work and storytelling efforts.
