Thank you Pamala Day for jurying the Mid Michigan Art Guild’s Fall Show!

Pamela Day is an award-winning, Detroit-born fine artist working from her studio in Wixom, Michigan. Her creative practice encompasses imaginative figurative ceramic sculpture, dimensional clay reliefs, and detailed paintings in gouache, an opaque watercolor medium. Across these diverse forms, Day embraces a distinctive style she describes as stylized realism, blending expressive character, intricate detail, rich color, and thoughtful craftsmanship. Through her sculptures and paintings, Day invites viewers into a world where humor, observation, symbolism, and story-telling intersect.
A dedicated artist and educator, Day earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1972 and Master of Arts in Education in 1978 from Eastern Michigan University and continuing to extend her arts education many hours beyond in the years following. After a long career teaching art in Michigan schools, she has continued to exhibit her work in juried exhibitions, galleries, and art fairs throughout Michigan and the surrounding region.
Pamela is a Signature member of the Michigan Water Color Society; an active and long-time Board member of the Brighton Art Guild includes curating and installing many art exhibits; the Michigan Ceramic Art Association, and a past member of the Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors.

Pamela Day is a Michigan fine artist who creates imaginative, expressive and unique figurative sculptural ceramic work, paintings, and photography.

Our MMAG 75th anniversary season has begun! We will meet at 6:30 on Thursday, September 17th at the Neighborhood Empowerment Center (600 W Maple St. in Lansing)
Our featured guest speaker is local artist, Michelle Detering.
Michelle is a nature inspired watercolor artist and instructor from Michigan. She works in a variety of media including watercolor, photography, and mixed media with watercolor being her primary medium. Her work offers a contemporary take on watercolor that emphasizes fluidity and flow. Michelle has received numerous awards for her artwork and has participated in group and solo shows throughout the Midwest and is collected by nature enthusiasts worldwide. She also has a busy art fair schedule, most recently she was at the Brighton and Penrod (Indianapolis, IN) art fairs, and her work is currently featured at the Nelson Gallery. Michelle has created artwork for companies such as Minted, Modales Winery, Andrews McMeel Publishing and Meijer - and just illustrated a book that was released September 8th, titled "i'm still here - a cat's purpose forever"
