"In greater Lansing, we are graced with more talented, good and generous spirits than a legion of journalists could ever adequately recognize and describe.
Musicians, artists, writers, poets, businesspeople, scientists, architects, activists — there have been so many I dare not name one, or even a few, and leave out so many others.
Both the MSU Jazz Studies program and the Lansing Symphony Orchestra embarked upon a golden age just as I settled into the front row, and that’s just for starters. Whether it’s visual arts, the poetry scene, the folk scene, local theater, public art — name any cultural delight humans come up with, it’s probably flourishing here, punching well above the city’s middleweight statistical status."
