Affordable housing builds more than homes. It builds Colorado's economy.

A report from the nonpartisan Colorado Futures Center at Colorado State University quantifies what housing advocates have long understood. It finds that the development and preservation of affordable housing across the state generates $2.7 billion in economic activity each year, sustains over 14,000 jobs, and returns nearly $80 million in annual tax revenue to Colorado. Private and public investments in Denver-area affordable housing alone resulted in more than $2 billion in annual economic output.

In other words: affordable housing is not a net cost to Colorado’s economy; it is a contributor.
