Our position is simple:

We support the Major Richard Star Act.
We support strengthening programs and services for veterans.
We oppose paying for those priorities by reducing earned disability compensation for future veterans.
Veterans should not be asked to pay for veterans' benefits.

Contact your members of Congress today and tell them: vote NO on H.R. 9237, the Take Care of America’s Veterans Act.

They said they wouldn’t cut veterans’ benefits.

But the VFW and many other Veterans Service Organizations oppose this legislation because it would do exactly that.

H.R. 9237 would use cuts to future veterans’ disability compensation, including for conditions like tinnitus and sleep apnea, to help pay for other veterans’ benefits.
That is not how a grateful nation honors its promises.

According to the VFW, the proposal could reduce compensation by roughly $57 billion over 10 years and affect up to 1.5 million veterans.

As VFW National Commander Carol Whitmore said: “A grateful nation pays its debts to veterans; it does not send them the invoice.”

It’s a Brother and Sisterhood, it’s a community with a code: We don’t eat our own.
Call. Email. Post. Share.

Tell Congress to stand with the VFW, stand with veterans, and vote NO on H.R. 9237.

Veterans earned these benefits through service and sacrifice, they should not be used as a budget offset. Congress is considering legislation that could change disability ratings for tinnitus and obstructive sleep apnea, and according to VA estimates, up to 1.5 million veterans could be affected, with disability compensation reduced by about $57 billion over the next 10 years.

Veterans should not have to pay for veterans’ benefits. If you believe Congress must Honor the Contract and protect earned disability compensation, take action today and make your voice heard. Stand up for those who served, tell Congress to protect the benefits our veterans have earned.

‼️ Action Alert‼️

🇺🇸 Colorado VFW Family, We Need Your Support 🇺🇸

Many of you know and have served alongside Christopher Linski over the years. Christopher is a Past State Surgeon, Past District 5 Commander, and Past Commander of VFW Post 4051 who has dedicated countless hours to serving veterans and strengthening our organization across Colorado.

Christopher has recently been diagnosed with head and neck cancer, a condition presumptively connected to his military service under the PACT Act.

He is undergoing extensive surgery on June 5 and faces a long road to recovery.

In addition to the challenges of fighting cancer, Christopher and his family are now facing significant financial hardship after he lost his job while preparing for treatment. Medical expenses, copays, household bills, and everyday costs are adding up during an already difficult time.

The VFW is more than an organization—it is a family. When one of our own is in need, we rally together.

Please consider making a donation, sharing this post, and helping spread the word. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will help Christopher and his family focus on what matters most: his recovery.

Please keep Christopher, his family, and his medical team in your thoughts and prayers as they begin this fight.

I am a military veteran, a husband, and a father to seven wonderful kids. Re… Christopher Linski needs your support for Help Christopher’s Family Fight Cancer
