🌟 September is all about connecting, learning, and growing 🌟

Lake County's Business Owners and Entrepreneurs are invited to join us for a fun lineup of September Business Development Events designed to bring our local business community together.
Whether you're just getting started, looking for your next opportunity, or have been serving Lake County for years, there's a seat at the table for you! ✨
This month, LakeCo BIS has collaborated to bring you opportunities to:
🤝 Connect with other business owners, because sometimes the best opportunities start with a conversation.
💡 Learn something new, from navigating commercial leases to strengthening your online presence.
🌱 Collaborate with local leaders, business resources, and organizations working to strengthen our economy.
📣 Share your ideas, because your experience and perspective matters in shaping the future of business in Lake County.
Yes, there are opportunities to eat, visit, laugh, grow and learn together! 🤓

September 8 - Commercial Leases: high stakes, hidden terms, and hard lessons with Narwhal Law and Business Strategy @ 4p
September 14 - A Very Special Cash Mob Monday with KORV @ 12n
September 18 - Business Workshop: Strengthen your online presence with childcare by Take Root Parenting from 4p to 6p
September 21 - working lunch with the new board chair of SCOEDD

These events are part of our ongoing effort to build a stronger, more connected local business community. One conversation, one relationship, and one idea at a time. Bring your questions. Bring your ideas. Bring a friend 🙌

We took some time yesterday morning to have a walking meeting and spent it picking up some of the downtown area here in Lakeview. We want to make this a regular thing here at LCRI, be sure to say hi if you see us or feel free to join in, the more the merrier!

📣 OUR COMMUNITY. OUR PRIORITIES. OUR PLAN.

After months of listening, research, community conversations, partnership, and planning, the proposed 2026–2029 Klamath & Lake Counties Council on Aging Area Plan is officially open for public comment.

This is more than a routine update.

Our Area Plan is the roadmap that will guide how KLCCOA plans, coordinates, strengthens, and prioritizes aging and disability services across Klamath and Lake Counties through 2029.

And it was built from what you told us.

We heard about transportation barriers. Food insecurity. The desire to age safely at home. Caregiver stress. Rural healthcare access. Social isolation. And the need to make services easier to find and navigate.

Now, we’re asking you to take one more step with us: review the plan and tell us what you think.

💛 You do not have to read all 260 pages to participate.

On our new Area Plan webpage, you can:
• Read the full proposed Area Plan
• Start with the Executive Summary
• Review the proposed budget
• Explore the priorities that matter most to you
• Submit your public comment online
• Find information about upcoming public comment opportunities

📅 Public Comment Period: August 13 – September 12, 2026

Every comment matters. Every perspective helps. And every response gives us another opportunity to make this plan stronger before it is finalized.

Thank you to every older adult, caregiver, community member, Tribal partner, service provider, organization, volunteer, Advisory Council member, and partner who has helped shape this work.

This is your community. These are your priorities. And this is our plan for what comes next.

In Klamath and Lake Counties, We Take Care of Our Own. 💛

August’s Night Sky Is Calling.

If you’ve been thinking about a getaway under the stars, this is your sign. August is one of the most spectacular months of the year to experience Junipers Reservoir RV Resort with incredible celestial events lighting up some of the darkest skies on Earth.

August 9 – Sturgeon Full Moon
Watch August’s full moon rise golden over the Oregon landscape. Named by Native American tribes for the abundance of sturgeon traditionally caught during this season, it’s one of the most beautiful moonrises of the year.

August 11–12 – Perseid Meteor Shower
One of the year’s most anticipated meteor showers peaks this month. Under Junipers’ exceptionally dark skies, you may see dozens of meteors streaking across the sky every hour.

August 12 – New Moon
With virtually no moonlight, this is the perfect time to experience the Milky Way in all its glory. Thousands of stars become visible, making it one of the best nights of the year for stargazing and astrophotography.

August 21 – Saturn at Opposition
Saturn reaches its closest point to Earth and shines brighter than at any other time this year. It will be visible all night long, and if you bring binoculars or a telescope, you may even catch a glimpse of its famous rings.

All Month – The Pleiades (Seven Sisters)
As August progresses, the beautiful Pleiades star cluster returns to the late-night and early morning sky, offering another breathtaking reason to look up.

At Junipers Reservoir RV Resort, you’re surrounded by wide-open horizons and some of the darkest skies in the world.

Book your stay now and experience one of the greatest natural light shows on Earth.

Your front-row seat to the universe is waiting.
