Help bring Sowah Mensah’s musician residency to Forest Edge Elementary! This March we are lucky to have a great opportunity for our school! Sowah Mensah, Ghanaian master drummer and founding member of the World Music Drumming Curriculum, is coming the week of March 22, 2027 through March 26, 2027 to work with ALL Forest Edge students. All students will have the opportunity to learn from him and perform by singing two songs and dancing with the Oregon Drumming Ensemble and FES Band and Orchestra accompanying them.

Your gift brings the Sowah Mensah musician residency to Forest Edge students 🎵 and helps our PTO fund hands-on music experiences that connect culture, rhythm, and creativity in the classroom.

This March we are lucky to have a great opportunity for our school! Sowah Mensah, Ghanaian Master Drummer and founding member of the World Music Drumming Curriculum, is coming the week of March 22nd through the 26th to work with ALL Forest Edge students. All students will have the opportunity to learn from him and perform by singing and dancing with three songs accompanied by the Oregon Drumming Ensemble and FES Band, Choir, and Orchestra.

This is a highly unique experience for all students to work together with a Master Ghanaian Drummer, but it needs support! There are two ways that you could help us make this happen.

Send in those Scoopie tokens by November 20th! The Forest Edge PTO needs as many as possible so that we can trade them in for sporting balls which can then be used at FES recess.
