Hey everyone,
Welcome to the 2023 US Kubb Open presented by Kubb United Inc. Our sponsors include IFF, Visit Beloit, JP’s Backyard Games and Beloit Parks and Rec.
Events for the Week:
FRIDAY
The pitches have all been painted and will be open on Friday at about 3pm for practice / friendlies / hanging out.
Please use Telfer Park for the GPS (2111 Cranston Rd, Beloit). It will take you to a large parking lot and the baseball stadium is a short walk from there. There is handicap parking at Pohlman Field if you know of someone who needs to utilize that.
We will probably leave the ball field by about 6/6:30pm and can head to downtown Beloit for the evening. We can meet at the rooftop at Hotel Goodwin for drinks and then feel free to explore downtown.

SATURDAY
For the day of the event, The Beloit Youth Hockey Association will once again be selling food and b**r. It is against park regulations to bring your own alcohol into the stadium, but you can bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages. You can also door dash something in if you’d like.
Pitches will be open at 7:30am for practice.
Registration will start at 7:45am. Please plan on registering by 8:30am.
Managers meeting at 8:45 with announcements.
There will be a group photo in the in-field right before the start of play.
Event starts 9am. During the first hour we may have a drone taking videos of the pitches and showing teams playing.
We will play 7 qualifying rounds (with 25-minute time limits) using the Klassic Scoring Format followed by bracket play.
Top 16 teams to Championship Bracket (losers of first round games fall into the A Consolation Bracket)

Players may throw 3 batons in a row.
We will have painted pitches and will use the 100% in rule and we will utilize the 2-4-6 open.

At approximately 1:00pm we will start bracket play. Championship bracket will be best 2 out of 3 up until the championship match while all other brackets will be single elimination.
We will be giving awards for the top three teams in the Championship bracket along with the top 2 in every other bracket. The top ten teams will receive cash prizes.
There will be a 50/50 raffle during the day and drawing for that winner will happen during the bracket play.
JP and Phil Dickenson will have yard games for sale and Kubb United will have hats and shirts for sale.
I would expect that we would be wrapping up between 5-6 based on how long the Championship bracket takes. I would encourage everyone to stick around and watch the Championship bracket unfold. The finals will be taking place on the in-field, and we would love to create a great environment for the participants.
Following the event, we will go to G5 Brewing in Beloit, it is about 10 minutes from the ballpark.
G5 Brewing 1895 Gateway Blvd, Beloit WI
SUNDAY
The fun does not end on Saturday. On Sunday at 9am Kubb United will host the traditional US Kubb Open 1 v 1. Single player tournament that will be held at the stadium again.
We will play 6 qualifying rounds (15-20 minutes) to establish seeding for the championship bracket.
This event should wrap up between 12 and 1pm.
The event cost will be $5 with payout of 75% for the winner.
In addition to the cash prize for the winner the top three 1v1 will also receive awards.
I am looking forward to seeing old and new faces this weekend.
