Fatima's journey reflects the resilience, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit that we see in so many women across Mozambique. Through her dedication, vision, and commitment to building a stronger future, she has demonstrated what is possible when women are given access to opportunity, education, and support.

As part of the Empower Her Program, Fatima joins a growing network of women entrepreneurs who are building sustainable businesses while also becoming leaders and role models for the next generation.

Through her role as an Empower Her Ambassador, she will work alongside our local partner, Associação Tagumanicanave , to encourage, mentor, and support other women as they begin their own entrepreneurial journeys.

Empower Her is a comprehensive 10-month program that equips women with the tools they need to succeed through training in entrepreneurship, financial management, marketing, leadership, and business development. Participants also receive startup grant funding to help launch and grow their businesses, creating sustainable income opportunities that strengthen families and entire communities.

At The Giving Genie, we are building that resilience through our Genie Corps Emergency Response Program (GCERP) and Genie Safe initiatives.

Through GCERP, young people gain life-saving skills in first aid, disaster preparedness, emergency response, and community resilience. Through Genie Safe, children and youth learn how to identify risks, stay safe, promote public health, and become leaders in protecting their communities.

🌍✨ Celebrating Mozambique Children’s Day ✨🌍

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and dream without limits. Today, we celebrate the children of Mozambique and reaffirm our commitment to empowering the next generation through education, literacy, leadership, and opportunity.

At The Giving Genie, we believe that investing in children is investing in the future of entire communities.

📚 Through Genie Read, we teach English to preschool students, helping young learners develop foundational language and literacy skills that prepare them for lifelong learning and success.

Our Nurturing Futures Program supports children in schools, orphanages, and vulnerable communities by providing essential resources including school supplies, clothing, food, healthcare items, and emotional support. Every child deserves to feel valued, protected, and cared for. Through initiatives like our Magic Quillow Project, we provide comfort, safety, and hope to children facing difficult circumstances and displacement.

Mozambique is often impacted by natural disasters, making preparedness and community resilience essential. Through our Genie Corps Emergency Response Program (GCERP), we train youth in disaster preparedness, emergency response, and life-saving skills. By empowering young people—70% of whom are women—we are creating a generation of leaders capable of protecting and strengthening their communities during times of crisis.

Many girls in Mozambique face significant barriers to education and economic independence. Through our Empower Her Program, we provide education, mentorship, financial support, and opportunities that help girls and women take control of their futures, become leaders in their communities, and create lasting change for generations to come.

This weekend, participants in our EMPOWER HER 11 Workshop in Sofala, Mozambique gathered for a powerful training focused on one of the most important foundations of entrepreneurship and leadership: building teams and partnerships rooted in trust. 💜🌍

In partnership with ASSOK – Associação Kuphatana, women in the program explored how trust, integrity, collaboration, commitment, and open communication are essential for creating successful businesses and stronger communities. Through group discussions and interactive learning, participants reflected on the qualities they value most in trustworthy partners and how healthy relationships can strengthen both personal and professional growth.

The EMPOWER HER Program by The Giving Genie is part of our broader commitment to equipping women with the tools, confidence, leadership development, and business education needed to become successful entrepreneurs and changemakers in their communities. Participants also receive startup grant funding to help launch and grow their businesses, creating sustainable income opportunities that uplift families and entire communities.

💜 Empower Her 3 Successfully Held on Saturday, May 23, in Marávia District, Mozambique 💜

On Saturday, May 23, The Giving Genie, in partnership with We Concern Mozambique, successfully hosted Empower Her 3 — a transformative workshop focused on 📖 “Estruturas Empresariais” (Business Structures).

The workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of different business models, entrepreneurship, business management, legal formalization, and sustainability for women-led businesses across the district of Marávia.

During the session, participants explored important topics including:

✔️ Individual Entrepreneurship
✔️ Limited Liability Companies
✔️ Public Limited Companies
✔️ Partnerships
✔️ Nonprofit Organizations

The discussions highlighted the advantages, challenges, and growth opportunities associated with each business structure. Participants demonstrated incredible enthusiasm, active engagement, and a strong commitment to building more organized and sustainable businesses for the future.

Across Mozambique, many women continue to face barriers such as limited access to education, financial resources, employment opportunities, and business training. Despite these challenges, women remain the backbone of their families and communities — working tirelessly to create better futures for their children.

🌟 Partner Highlight: Sasol & Padrão Consultoria 🌟

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the impact that Sasol and Padrão Consultoria are making in the lives of students from the Giving Genie
Education Program. 💙

Recently, our beneficiaries had the opportunity to participate in an Oil & Gas Industry Induction at our partner school Instituto Industrial e Comercial Estrela do Mar in Inhassoro Institute, where they were equipped with valuable knowledge and workplace preparation skills for the future.

The session focused on:
