[Luk 18:9-14 NASB95] 9 And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and viewed others with contempt: 10 "Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 "The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: 'God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 12 'I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.' 13 "But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, the sinner!' 14 "I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted."

LORD, forgive me for the times I have judged others and been focused on my righteousness instead of my need of forgiveness for my lack of righteousness.

Forgive me Lord for when I have looked at others with contempt instead of compassion.

Forgive me Lord for seeing my virtues not as gifts of grace to me but as part of my character that I have attained through my own efforts instead of the fruit of YOUR work in me.

Save me from self-righteous pride.

LORD, be merciful to me a sinner.

Help me see the many ways that sin disguise’s itself to appear as good, righteous, and just. How easily I can call evil, good and good I can call evil.

Lord, keep me from falling into the traps and strategies of the devil who comes as an angel of righteousness and insight and ready to encourage “truthful” accusations against others to promote in me less love, mercy, compassion, and grace.

Lord, have mercy on me a sinner.

LORD, provide a way through the elections next Tuesday in the United States that will not be one of chaos, confusion, conflict, contempt of each other, and a crisis leading to civil war with the loss of our constitutional republic.

Only YOUR mercy and grace can save us from this deserved fruit of our national sins and moral blindness.

Grant a great spiritual awakening that will be one of true humility and the ability to recognize where we have lost the path of justice, mercy, and meekness.

LORD, only YOUR hand can save us from ourselves.

LORD of compassion, bring the sanity of peace into the regions now ravaged by the insanity of war, conflict, violence, and chaos. Raise up effective peacemakers in the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia, Congo, and Haiti to bring an end to suffering on massive scales creating orphans, parents who have lost their children, starvation, homelessness, and hundreds of thousands of refugees clinging to survival daily.

Hear the cries of the desperate.

Flood in missionaries of mercy who can provide practical help and gospel hope to those facing hopeless circumstances beyond most of our imaginations to grasp the level of pain and struggle that has become their daily life. Open the doors to those who can bring aid. Act now to end this suffering for YOUR glory and their good.

Bring to YOUR Church a unity in the gospel and an experience of transforming encounter with YOUR divine LOVE. Holy Spirit, now produce in us your disciples the fruit of a wise, mature, and merciful love.

[Jhn 13:34-35 NASB95] 34 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

LORD of LOVE, make me a person of real love even for my enemies this day even as YOU loved me when I was YOUR enemy.

Bring transforming true faith to family and friends who lack this trust in YOU this day and are not connected to YOU as a source of real spiritual life in their souls. Help them now encounter YOU and find YOU today. Forgive them for YOUR glory and their good.

YOUR will be done and kingdom come on earth as in heaven. Amen

Lord, out of the ashes of this upcoming election, bring a powerful working of YOUR true SPIRIT of LOVE, UNITY, transformation, and regeneration. Do something unexpected and great beyond what we would consider possible.

LORD, hear the cries of the orphans, the starving, and the homeless in the Middle East, Ukraine, and Russia and bring comfort, supplies, and medical help. Allow some path of peace to be found that will end the suffering and struggles of hundreds of thousands of people now impacted by these wars. Bring the gospel to these regions in new power and provide fresh hope to them now.

Help those depressed and hopeless. Give them a fresh encouragement and reason to live. Lord, keep those who are considering su***de to be given new hope.

LORD, help us now for we are in times of great distress!

Lord, open the hearts of family and friends to accept YOU and the gospel. Grant them true faith and repentance. Forgive them for YOUR glory!

[1Jo 1:8-10 NASB95] 8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

LORD SPIRIT, put within us the ability to see where we fall short and admit to YOU that we have not honored or loved YOU or others as we should.

Help us abandon our self-righteousness.

Help us abandon our rationalizations.

Help us not just see the failings of our enemies, but our own failings.

YOU resist the proud and raise up the humble.

Save us from our pride.

Give to us a healthy and right fear of YOU to whom we must all give an account.

Because YOU forgive sins, YOU are to be feared.

[Psa 130:3-4 NASB95] 3 If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? 4 But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared.

YOU are faithful in forgiving our sins for YOU have promised to forgive us when we admit our wrongs and turn from them.

[Pro 28:13-14 NASB95] 13 He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, But he who confesses and forsakes [them] will find compassion. 14 How blessed is the man who fears always, But he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.

LORD, keep us from hardening our hearts.

YOU are just in forgiving us our sins because YOU paid the price for the transgressions of YOUR people on the cross and therefore the penalty for these sins has already been borne by YOU on the cross. YOU took our punishment that we may be forgiven.

[Rom 3:25-26 NASB95] 25 whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. [This was] to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; 26 for the demonstration, [I say,] of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

LORD, it would appear we are approaching a historic “Day of the Lord” on November 5th in which in YOUR righteous judgment we could see the end of our constitutional republic and be in a state of confusion, chaos, conflict, and even civil war.

[Amo 5:20 NASB95] 20 [Will] not the day of the LORD [be] darkness instead of light, Even gloom with no brightness in it?

LORD, we confess that the transgressions of our nation are great. We have aborted children, hated people because of their culture or shade of their skin, distorted sexuality calling evil good and good evil, failed to give true justice to the poor in our courts favoring the rich, and idolized our own power and wealth as a nation seeing ourselves as greater than all other nations.

Lord, for a thousand national transgressions YOU would be righteous and just to bring YOUR judgment upon us for YOU gave us many gifts and we have been poor stewards of them as a nation.

LORD, flood the land with an attitude of confession and repentance.

Help us not just see the sins of our “enemies” but our own failures.

Allow YOUR people to be filled with humility and see their own short comings, turn from them, and seek a deep personal intimate relationship with YOU above all else.

[2Ch 7:13-14 NASB95] 13 "If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, 14 and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

LORD, of grace who gives the gift of repentance, give us this gift today for without it we will perish. Take from us hearts of stone and put in us hearts sensitive to YOU and YOUR LOVE. Where we have been seduced by the attitudes of the unbelieving culture and trusted in political movements to save us let us give these up as vain hopes and illusions. Only YOU can save us now. Save us from ourselves.

[Isa 31:1 NASB95] 1 Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help [And] rely on horses, And trust in chariots because they are many And in horsemen because they are very strong, But they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the LORD!

LORD, bring revival, repentance, renewal, reformation, and restoration. Do a great work in this day and show that YOUR arm is not short and still can save. For YOUR glory now turn from judgment and bring a great awakening.

[Exo 34:6-8 NASB95] 6 Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; 7 who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave [the guilty] unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations." 8 Moses made haste to bow low toward the earth and worship.

LORD, let us bow down and make us those who worship YOU in Spirit and in Truth.

Save our family and friends that were without YOU as their Savior and bring to them true faith. For YOUR glory forgive them.

Bring sanity and peace to all the regions now fill with the insanity of war and social anarchy and bring effective peacemakers into these hopeless circumstances and end the suffering of the orphans and the helpless. Lord, have mercy and turn us from hatred, revenge, vengeance, to be those who seek peace and healing. Lord hear the cries of the desperate and broken hearted.

Lord of history, have mercy now.

What hope do we have but in your compassion and mercy?

None, for YOU alone can now save.

As long as we are still wondering what other people say or think about us and trying to act in ways that will elicit a positive response, we are still victimized and imprisoned by the dark world in which we live. In that dark world we have to let our surrounding tell us hwat we are worth. … As long as we are in the clutches of that world, we live in darkness, since we do not know our true self. We cling to our false self in the hope that maybe more success, more praise more satisfaction, will give us the experience of being loved which we crave. That is the fertile ground of bitterness, greed, violence, and war. In prayer, however, again and again we discover that the love we are looking for has already been given to us and that we can come to the experience of that love.

Dear LORD, who is like YOU?

YOU are the just LORD who can pardon iniquity justly because of YOUR perfect sacrifice on the cross.

Even when YOUR people rebel YOU show patience and long suffering.

YOU do not abandon YOUR people even when they act in rejection of YOUR truth.

LORD, YOU desire for YOUR people to confess and repent not to be destroyed due to acting unwisely.

LORD, YOUR compassion and grace are greater than we could have ever hoped that they would ever be able to be in YOUR eternal love.

YOUR covenant LOVE is unchanging and steadfast.

Help me believe that nothing can separate me from that eternal LOVE.

Our sins and moral failings will be buried under YOUR feet and be cast into the deepest depths of the ocean.

YOUR promises will all be kept regardless of any other factors.

LORD, we need to have YOUR TRUTH to discern good and evil as YOU discern good and evil.

LORD, we are on November 5th of this year having an election in the United States and unless YOU intervene in supernatural ways we will have chaos, confusion, and conflict.

We deserve all of these things because of our sins, but in YOUR mercy let us keep the constitutional Republic we have enjoyed. Let it not be washed away into the dustbin of history.

LORD, for YOUR glory now save us from ourselves.

Lord, send a revival of true and legitimate regeneration that is transforming in its power.

Send us a deep and profound hatred of our sins and put to death our self-righteousness.

Give to us an outpouring of repentance, greater than we could imagine and give us a hunger for holiness.

Renew our commitment to YOU Lord Jesus as our prophet, priest, and king.

Reform our thinking so that we will really be thinking YOUR thoughts after YOU.

Restore each of YOUR children to putting YOU first before all other loves in our lives. Be our "first love".

LORD, help us to experience YOUR presence, power, purity, and peace in ways beyond anything we have ever had before in our lives.

LORD, raise up peacemakers in the Middle East and in the Ukraine and Russian conflict so that the devastation caused by the war can end and aid can reach those that have lost everything and bring help to the orphans who wander now with no parents to care for them.

Great and eternal LORD, unique and one of a kind, hear the cries of our heart and show us YOUR ways.

Lord, into YOUR all-powerful hands we release the results of this election in November in the United States.

We ask that the election will be peaceful, without confusion, free of protest and violence.

Save us LORD from civil war.

Help us see that more important than the political election is the election people make of who will be the “GOD” of their daily lives. LORD, give us a true and wise LOVE for YOU because of YOUR LOVE for us demonstrated on the cross of suffering for our sins.

Without a spiritual awakening and a moral reformation, inspired by the Hol y Spirt then all political outcomes mean little and nothing.

LORD, change our hearts!

Reform our thinking to match YOUR thinking!

Grant all our leaders a new vision and conviction to seek to rule with YOUR wisdom from heaven and not depend on their own understanding.

May they reflect deeply on their role as political shepherds that YOU have appointed and become humble and hungering after holiness.

LORD, our national sins deserve only YOUR judgement and condemnation.

Lord have mercy now and deliver us from false beliefs, the influence of a popular culture that rebels against YOU and YOUR righteousness, and the spiritual influence of the devil.

Great HERO of heaven, Christ Jesus, come now and help us be effective in being the salt and light of these times we live in. Keep us from just "baptizing" secular thinking and movements and placing YOUR name on them when they do not reflect YOUR thinking or heart.

LORD, save family and friends that don’t know YOU or trust in YOU and YOUR gospel. Give to them transforming faith, true love, and solid hope. Forgive their sins and make them consistent disciples.

LORD, bring aid to those who are without food, shelter, or medical aid in Gaza. Bring help to the orphans and all those who have lost loved ones in the war.

Lord, look upon all the suffering in the Ukraine, Russia, Congo, and Haiti and establish a reasonable peace and restoration of order over chaos.

Lord, allow the election in the United States be free of chaos, confusion, and help us avoid a civil war.

If the foundations are destroyed what are we to do?

Lord of salvation and hope, save our family and friends who have rejected YOU as LORD and Savior up to this time. Convert them and forgive them. For YOUR glory and their good give them the gift of faith and eternal life.

LORD, keep us from defending gossip as good.

Help our words be guided by grace, love, compassion, truth, aimed at protecting the innocent, being mercifully fair with the guilty, and only speaking prayerfully with care before we speak while avoiding words that simply are worthless, foolish, and only leading to behavior that is against YOUR will and purpose.

Keep our words from tearing down YOUR Church, causing destructive division, or disturbing the unity of the believers.

LORD, have mercy on us and help us speak that which is YOUR will for us to speak.

Allow our media and news strive to be careful about what they report, give them a desire for truth more than sensationalism.

LORD, there are 12 days till election day in the United States. This election may be the end of our constitutional republic. It is possible that civil war will break out because of the hatred on both sides towards the other. Allow us to have a orderly, calm, and accepted results from the election free of protest and violence.

Let the media not be producing propaganda for the left or the right but rather be seekers of truth who will publish that which is found to actually be true.

Keep us from only wanting the news to report what we already agree with and supports our prejudice and point of view.

Help us desire truth.

Lord, send revival to unbelievers giving them true faith, renew believers to their first love, provide for the backslider deep repentance, for those who wandered from the faith they were taught as children, restoration to YOU, and reformation of our biblical teaching so it accurately teaches what YOU desire.

LORD of salvation, now provide family and friends with true faith and make the true disciples. Forgive their sins and adopt them into YOUR eternal family.

LORD, in thirteen days there will be an election in the United States and let it be without controversy, contention, or civil war.

Preserve the Union and protect our constitutional Republic so that we may have time to repent and turn toward YOU.

Lord, save us from devouring one another and show us the ways of peace.

King of the Universe and ruler over all history, now hear our cries to YOU for a calm, constructive, and without controversy election in the United States in fourteen days.

Save us from any type of destructive demonstations or even a civil war.

Honor everyone and love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor. (ESV) 1 Peter 2:17

Lord, you have put me into a world of relationships with people and institutions.

Life here, "East of Eden" is complicated and painful.

People act in abusive and hurtful ways all the time.

Institutions are filled with incompetence and corruption.

Help me to show respect and honor for every human being because they are made in YOUR image.

Let me give unconditional respect to every person.

Let me see beyond the actions that so often show a lack of character and competence to see that person as made in YOUR image and filled with sacred worth.

Let me base my feelings of respect not on the performance of the person but on YOUR respect for that person.

Help me see the value of each person in my life.

Also help me to have self-respect regardless of my radical failures to do YOUR will on earth as in heaven.

LORD, help me value myself at those time of greatest failure in my own character and competence.

Lord, forgive me but help me to not hate myself for my sins but to hate the sins.

LORD, you have called people from all nations and cultures into YOUR redeemed family.

You have chosen people of every color of skin, every culture, poor and rich, intelligent and average, men and women, and of every personality type to all be YOUR community of faith.

YOU love each of them with an intense, passionate, committed, and sacrificial love and want me to share in that love for them.

Yet, YOUR children here "East of Eden" are complicated mixtures of depraved characters, emotional struggles, horrible evil deeds, regeneration, sacrificial caring, and devoted service.

The flesh wars against the Spirt. The Spirit wars against the flesh.

The common characteristics of selfishness and self-righteousness that are common in all people are still present in the imperfect fellowship of YOUR imperfect saints.

Being abused in the body of Christ by other followers is common.

Gossip like a cancer grows among us. So I must love them not only as my brothers and sisters, but many times as my enemy all at the same time.

This is very complicated and difficult.

I need YOUR grace to love them as YOU love them and so prove to be YOUR disciple.

Help me see them through YOUR eyes and see the great love YOU have for them. Grant me to see the value YOU place on them. Provide me help in seeing that our unity in YOU is more important than that which divides us and which binds us together.

Lord, help others in the family of God love me as well.

For I come in with all my baggage and disfunction.

I sin and hurt others. I don't deserve to be a part of the community of saints.

Only by YOUR grace am I part of the redeemed fellowship.

I am not easy to love.

Eternal and Great, Father God, help my attitude towards YOU be one in which I see YOUR greatness, goodness, grace, intimate closeness, and wise purpose.

Help me be very sober, serious, and realistic in my relationship with YOU show YOU the deepest respect, honor, and gratitude for YOUR many gifts.

Let me have a deep desire to do that which would please YOU and avoid all that would dishonor YOU and cause you grief.

Help me in the deepest parts of my soul, recognize YOUR infinite greatness and goodness, even as I see my weakness and moral failures.

Help me hope in your grace found in Messiah Jesus, suffering and resurrection as the only basis for me knowing YOU and being in fellowship with YOU.

Give me thankfulness for my forgiveness and full acceptance as YOUR child.

The rulers YOU have placed over us seem many times to be extremely weak in character and competence when we look at them objectively.

YOU, wise and great RULER of the nations, have chosen them to accomplish various aspects of YOUR eternal plan, reveal to us our own hearts as they incarnate and reflect the character of our souls as a culture, and show to us our own self-righteous pride as we judge them.

Help us value them as part of YOUR plan and as YOUR choice.

In our respect of them, regardless of their performance, help us demonstrate our trust in YOU and YOUR ways.

Give us faith in YOUR choice of them to rule. Help us for YOU know that this is very hard.

Forgive me for not being a very good follower of YOUR leaders.

My rebellious heart would want to be free of all constraint and treat with contempt those who lead knowing that I am better and brighter than they are, so why should I listen to them?

Yet, in this very internal dialogue, I demonstrate my pride and self-reliance.

Give to me a humble heart.

Lord, help President Biden, the members of congress, the Supreme Court, the governors, state legislators, and judges now be awakened anew to the grave responsibility they have to rule over others.

May the weight and significance of their duties to establish true justice be shown to them in a new way.

Convict them of their wrong thinking and actions. Give them a renewed and passionate desire to provide merciful justice in their ruling to every person under their authority.

Please radically convict and convert our leaders as YOU did Saul to transform him into the Apostle Paul.

Do the impossible and humble them.

Bring them to a real repentance, conversion, and regeneration.

Grant to us greater trust in YOUR sovereign plan at this moment in history. Help us trust YOU in the darkness of this historic hour. LORD bring political peace and spiritual revival to Israel and the Middle East.

LORD, allow the republic of the United States to endure this time of great testing that we may yet as a nation be of use to YOU and YOUR kingdom.

Keep chaos form destroying us and save us from losing our republic. Allow the elections be calm and without violence.

We don't deserve our freedoms. Forgive us our national sins and in YOUR grace bring to us a great awakening and revival.

Save us from our unbelief and rebellion against YOU. Release a movement of awakening and revival in all nations.

May YOUR true gospel drown the world in truth and be responded to with repentant hearts.

LORD, save our family and friends who are lost. Bring them true faith this day.

Lord have mercy, save us now! Amen
