LAA board members met for our April meeting on 4-15-2026 and a calculator and our checkbook took a beating!
Our treasurer mentioned hand cramps after writing out checks for a total of $43,708.53. This would not be possible without the support of our merchants and individuals opening their wallets at our fundraiser in March of 2026.
Thank you again for the support and we look forward to March 13, 2027. Mark the date!

Article I - Name
This organization shall be known as the Lakewood Athletic Association.

Article II - Aims and Objectives
The LAA was formed to promote athletics among the general citizenry of the Lakewood Public School area. To aid the coaching staff through fund raising to secure better equipment, provide adequate playing facilities and to stimulate interest in the general welfare of all those engaged in sports activities at Lakewood Public Schools.

SAVE THE DATE ALERT:
LAA Board Members at their meeting on March 11, 2026 are asking you to mark your calendar for March 13, 2027 for our LAA Cash/Car Party Fundraiser. Yes, we are moving to the 2nd week of March to be able to share in the excitement of our athletes going to state finals.
We wish to thank the list of merchants and individuals that contribute to our successful 2026 and the attendees opening their wallets and generating a profit of $54,425.45. Simply amazing, please thank them when you have a chance, the list is long and so much appreciated !
Coach Request: In other business, we filled a request for $1,943.24 to purchase needed equipment.
Our April meeting will be a week later because of Spring Break on April 15, 2026 at 7 pm in the Media Center at the Lakewood High School.

The LAA Scholarship has been established to recognize two deserving scholar-athletes in each graduating class. $1,000 for each recipient.

To be considered for the LAA Scholarship you must:
• Be scheduled to graduate in the year applying.
• Have participated in at least two varsity sports in your Senior year.
• Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.8.
• Have completed the application form.

Deadline to submit this material is March 15, 2026

The LAA Board Members met to finalize the plans for our March 7 fundraiser. Once again we want to thank our merchants and individuals in the community because we could not do what we do without your support.
We thought you might want to know how we spend those funds generated at our single fundraiser each March.
This list is from our 2024/2025 fiscal year. (August 2024 to April 2025.)

Several months ago LAA board members approved a request from the Cheer Coach. Today we received a video, because the evening we were suppose to watch a demonstration in person school was closed for snow!
Received this from our AD Mr. Aldrich. "Not quite like seeing it in person but cheer wanted to make sure LAA members knew they are appreciative of the track and thank you for it. We’ll try again maybe in the fall to get an in person demonstration.'
