Family of the Month – Alan & Tara Brodbeck
The Brodbecks have been visible in the community for many years and entered full communion with the church in 2020. The family may have joined the parish recently, but Alan, Tara, and their daughter, Marjorie, are active in many parish ministries. Tara teaches faith formation. Alan lectures, serves as an extraordinary minister, and facilitates OCIA sessions. Marjorie is an altar server and enjoys volunteering for grounds clean-up twice a year. Alan’s god daughter, Penelope, attends mass but doesn’t participate in ministry, yet. Alan looks forward to guiding her towards realizing God’s work in the years to come.
When Tara and Alan met, Alan was good friends with Tara’s brother. The couple started dating in their college years and were wed in South Haven in 2004. Tara and Alan received the sacrament of confirmation during COVID and Marjorie just received the same last year.
Alan’s family has valued community involvement ever since he can remember. You may notice the family’s involvement with Woodland Homecoming and the Community Christmas Baskets. The Brodbecks appreciate the opportunities parish ministry provides them to connect with the community-at-large. Alan, Tara, and Marjorie all enjoy the Knights of Columbus programs, especially the winter euchre tournaments, which give Alan an opportunity to show off his handy collection of gadget belt buckles.
Congratulations to the Brodbeck family as our Family of the Month!
