As many of you know I took over ownership for Kids Feeding Kids thrift in lake city a little over two months ago.
It’s been challenging, chaotic and yet oh so wonderful all at the same time. Upon taking over ownership I came to meet and grow to love people that I had never met. I never had much to do with the store throughout the process of running The Faith Project. I never knew exactly how much dedication and hard work it took to run such a manageable chaotic place. And boy let me tell you these last few months have been a learning curve by far.
I tell you this to tell you a story about a family who pours their literal all into our organization, our business and our community. To save face I will not include their names but if you know our store or nonprofit you’ll know exactly who I’m speaking about.
The wife of this family is one of the main backbones of our store. Shows up everyday ready to work with a 5 month baby on her hip her husband behind her ready to go and tackle whatever laundry lists of tasks I have for them. At lunch time one of them leaves to pick up their other daughter and come back to finish out the day. And this daughter of theirs isn’t just your typical rambunctious 8 year old. Shes autistic- and I say this not saying it as a disability. She’s the smartest, sweetest and bravest girl you will ever meet.
These past few weeks I’ve come to learn that where they live isn’t ideal. There’s no room for their daughter to run and play. Folks come and go from the apartment complex of all hours of night, violent, loud, obnoxious, and overall just UNSAFE. They’re in danger every day.
Above all of this- just a few short weeks ago they had taken their daughter outside to play. Like any 8 year old child loves to do. And terrible comments made about her condition and how they need to just put her inside.
I say all of this to say. They have the income. We’ve found a place. But we need help raising first last and security- but we also need prayers. This is a mental toll on their whole family.
This need is a total of $3500. If you feel lead to give please don’t hesitate to reach out. If you can’t donate. PLEASE above all else just pray for their safety and Gods hands to be on their lives ❤️
