Good morning, AMERICAN LEGION POST 57!!
I cannot even begin to tell you how proud I was last night at our general assembly meeting. It was really great to see so many people turn out, and participate in discussion for the various things that were on the agenda yesterday. And how many people remained to help set up for the event going on this morning, and the number of people that stayed to celebrate the American Legion’s 107th birthday with us.
It was also inspiring to hear Lieutenant Colonel Akers speak about the ROTC, and CHS welding. In the fact that he thought that our post was the best post he’s ever visited.
Our members are what makes this post awesome there’s no single person who can take credit for the amazing things that we do.
Last night general assembly voted to support Florida, Gateway, College, girls, softball, ROTC drill, team, and CHS welding program. I am very proud of all the things that we are doing in the community. And I want to thank the people who stepped forward to donate money for banners for our sponsorships.
Our members inspire me every day to be better than yesterday and to support our youth and children in Lake City and to support our Veterans in need.
The turnout to the chili cookoff was also amazing, and the all the hard work that our American Legion Riders put into making that event awesome!
Thank you all so much for your support at last night’s meeting, and your patience in helping me learn meeting protocol, keeping me on my toes and making sure that everything went smoothly!
And lastly, I would like to thank the people who stepped up last night to run for an office on the board. It makes me excited for the coming year.!! and to continue to build on what we’ve been able to accomplish over the last two years!
