Today at ADT, our friends enjoyed a special Juneteenth lunch while taking time to learn about the significance of this important day in history.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a celebration of freedom, resilience, and progress. Through shared meals, meaningful conversations, and learning opportunities, our friends were able to reflect on the importance of honoring history and celebrating diversity within our community.

At CARC, we value opportunities that encourage learning, inclusion, and connection. We are grateful to spend these moments together while continuing to grow, learn, and celebrate one another.

💚🩵 Slime time at ADT! 🩵💚

This afternoon, our friends got creative making their own slime and exploring different colors, textures, and designs. Activities like this provide a fun way to encourage creativity, following directions, decision-making, and sensory exploration while building confidence and having fun together.

At CARC, we believe learning happens in many different ways, and hands-on activities like slime making create opportunities for our friends to express themselves, engage with their peers, and take pride in what they create.

The smiles, laughter, and sticky hands say it all—it was a great afternoon! 😊

🍓☀️ A special thank you to Hoover Family Farms and U-Pick for generously sponsoring our recent berry-picking trip in Live Oak!

Participants from both our Summer Sunshine Squad Program and Adult Day Training (ADT) Program had the opportunity to spend some time outdoors, pick fresh berries, explore the farm, and enjoy time with friends. Community outings like these encourage social interaction, independence, confidence-building, and meaningful connections while creating lasting memories.

We are so grateful to Hoover Family Farms for helping make this experience possible and for supporting opportunities that allow the individuals we serve to learn, grow, and stay engaged in their community.

Thank you for a wonderful day filled with smiles, laughter, and lots of fresh berries! ❤️🍓

🐾 We had some very special visitors join us at ADT and our Summer Sunshine Squad Program today!

A huge thank you to Doggie Dude Ranch for bringing their furry friends to spend time with us. Our participants loved the opportunity to interact with the dogs, share smiles, and enjoy a fun and memorable experience together.

Visits like these help promote social engagement, communication, community connections, and positive experiences that support our mission of empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their highest level of independence.

Thank you again to Doggie Dude Ranch for sharing your wonderful dogs with us—we loved every minute of it and can't wait to see you all again soon! 🐶❤️

At CARC, our mission is to provide opportunities that promote independence, self-confidence, and meaningful community involvement for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Every day, our participants practice valuable life skills that help them make choices, solve problems, build relationships, and navigate their communities with greater confidence. Whether it's communication, decision-making, social interaction, or daily living skills, each achievement—big or small—plays an important role in fostering independence.

💙 At CARC, our mission is to empower individuals to live meaningful, fulfilling lives through opportunities that promote independence, inclusion, personal growth, and community involvement.

Today, that mission was on full display as friends from our ADT Program and Summer Sunshine Squad came together to take part in Special Olympics activities. Through shared experiences like these, individuals have the opportunity to build friendships, encourage one another, and experience the sense of belonging that comes from being part of a supportive community.

From cheering on teammates to celebrating personal achievements, the day was filled with positivity, determination, and sportsmanship. We are proud of each of participant for representing CARC so well and for embracing every opportunity to learn, connect, and grow.
