Friends of Lafayette Animal Shelter

Friends of Lafayette Animal Shelter Our goal is to help the animals at the Lafayette Animal Shelter and Care Center, as well as homeless and at-risk pets throughout our community.

We focus on surrender prevention--helping pets stay in their loving homes and not enter a shelter. FLASh is a non-profit organization working to reduce the number of homeless pets at Lafayette Animal Shelter and Care Center and in the Lafayette community, through adoption promotion and community involvement and assistance.

Summer heat can be dangerous for pets if precautions aren’t taken. ☀️🐾

As temperatures rise, remember to keep your pets safe by:
💧 Providing plenty of fresh water
🌳 Limiting outdoor activity during peak heat hours
🐶 Avoiding hot pavement that can burn paws
🚗 Never leaving pets unattended in vehicles
🏠 Making sure pets have access to shade or air conditioning

A little preparation can go a long way in protecting your furry family members this summer. Stay safe, stay cool, and help keep Lafayette Parish pets healthy all season long.

Rudy said, “I’m SUPER happy my (112‼️) friends found homes at the BISSELL Pet Foundation event… but ummm… did y’all forget about me?” 🥹💛

This squishy little meatball is still waiting for his turn. Rudy has been cheering on every adoption while perfecting his sad puppy eyes. Somebody come scoop up this happy hippo already! 🐾🏡
