🦉 Swooping into summer learning!
Things are getting a little "hoot-tastic" at our Lonsdale Elementary Club! We'e kicking off the summer by diving into the fascinating world of owls. Our amazing staff have been reading to our younger members, sparking curiosity right from the start.
But this isn’t just storytime—owls are the perfect gateway to hands-on STEM learning for kids of all ages! Here is why we love this theme:
👉Biology & Adaptation: Kids get to learn about how owls see in the dark, their silent flight, and how their unique feathers make them ultimate nighttime hunters.
👉Engineering in Nature: Studying how an owl’s wings work inspires real-world aerodynamic design and engineering concepts.
👉Local Ecosystems: It connects our members to the Tennessee wildlife right in their own backyards, teaching them about food chains and conservation.
👉Interactive Fun: From dissecting owl pellets (always a huge hit!) to charting different species, owl-themed activities make science tangible and memorable.
We are so proud of our members for jumping into summer with such big curiosity. If week one is this exciting, we can't wait to see what else the rest of the summer holds
